"I don't ask for things."
"Then how do you get the things you want?"

Channon has it all, his Sir, his friends, and now he's even going to meet the brother and sister his dad kept secret from him for ten years. He should be satisfied, right? Anything else would be ungrateful.

Still, sometimes Channon craves a different kind of care from Sir, the man who owns him in heart and mind and body. Something soft. Something safe. Something he hesitates to say out loud, even to himself.

But he can't stay silent forever. If he's going to get what he wants, he'll have to stand up and ask for it, and trust Sir not to let him down.

It’s safe to say I absolutely love this series in all its kinky entirety. But at the heart of it is a love story. And when all is said and done, when it’s just Jack and Channon on the page, loving each other, needing each other, being there for each other regardless of any situation that comes their way, there’s nothing better.

This series, these characters, they’ve taken up space in my heart. This episode with Channon’s family was like a punch to the gut. I felt it. And not just because I have daddy issues myself. It’s because these characters are so well crafted they feel like friends. When they hurt, I hurt. It’s a wonderful feeling to have such short glimpses into Jack and Channon’s lives leave something with me, every damn time.

And this new expression of their love, trust and commitment to each other was both scorchingly hot and beautiful. I can’t wait to see where it goes. I’m really not ready for them to be finished yet.

Please, Daddy. Stay a little longer….

This is one of my favorite series. It’s funny how easily I fall back into the story. I love the dynamic between Jack and Channon. This has to be one of the best episodes because Channon meets his stepbrother and stepsister. I don’t want to give too much away, but I loved his encounter with his father at dinner. I can’t wait for episode 40 which is due out in a few days.

I honestly don’t know how Moray keeps making me like these characters more, because I thought I already liked them the maximum possible amount. Channon and Jack have both grown so much, and it’s incredibly satisfying to see Channon’s increasing self-confidence and Jack’s continued self-reflection and support. Jack noticing the ways Channon’s friendship with Ewan has made Channon stronger and happier was maybe my favorite part – it shows how much Jack has grown and that he’s genuinely trying to do what’s best for Channon, not just assuming he knows what’s best.

Two minor complaints:

The bonus scene should have been the last chapter in the episode. It ties everything together and is an even more satisfying conclusion than the current last chapter. I hope that when the next season of HBND is published, this bonus chapter is included, because it’s necessary!

I almost took off a star for bad California geography. Not really, but seriously – it does not take four hours to drive from the Bay Area (which is where Santa Rita has to be) to Sacramento. Authors please do not distract me by writing weird geography that makes me spend 20 minutes on Google maps trying to figure out what the heck you looked up!

I absolutely love love love reading about Channon and Jack. It's really amazing how far their relationship has come over the years, from when they were just starting to where they are now. I love all the depth to their emotions and this relationship.

My heart hurt for Channon and his relationship with his father - I hate all the self doubt and negativity that his father has forced Channon to feel. But I do love seeing Channon standing up for himself, and also Jack being so supportive and caring.

Also, that bonus at the end? HOT.

This couple is just total end game and OTP for me, I love all the new things they can still discover and have fun with, while also still being a comfort couple for me.

I received an arc in exchange for an honest review.

Channon’s dad is an epic asshole.
I wish Jack would ruin him. Maybe in later episodes.

Daddy kink is a new avenue that these two haven’t even scratched the surface of yet. I’m here for it though. Jack and Channon are SO hot in this episode.

We got to meet Channon’s siblings Chase and Madison. I hope he’s able to set up a trust for them. Those kids deserve a better father than they have. It was a full circle moment for Channon.

This was published in 2022 and no episodes were released in 2023 😣😣😣 I hope that means we get a ton in 2024.

Sweet and sexy update! I've not ~loved~ the more recent developments in their relationship, and like Channon, I've been wanting something a bit closer to their original dynamic, so I enjoyed this one.

CW for emotionally abusive father

It's lovely to see how far Jack and Channon have come since season 1, both as individuals and as a couple. I never thought I would still be into them 400k words later, but here I am. Usually, I'm not a fan of series that follow the same couple; I even sometimes skip epilogues for books I liked, just because I get bored once everyone is in love and happy. But Channon and Jack's complex and engaging dynamic continues to evolve with each installment, in a way that is both fun and thought-provoking. I have had so many interesting discussions with other readers about those books that I originally thought were supposed to be "only" kink exploration erotica.

The last few episodes dealt a lot with Jack's toxic view of masculinity and how both of them deal with non-monogamy in their relationship. This one steers a little bit away from this, and focuses on Channon's relationship with his father. I'm glad this got addressed since he's been a loose thread for a while. And even though not everything gets neatly solved in this, I think most readers will like how Channon dealt with this. He's gaining more and more insight into his self-worth issues and where they came from, and when he takes action, it comes from his own initiative.

In parallel to this storyline, we see Channon navigating his desires to let Jack knows what he wants without redefining the entire basis of their relationship. I like how secure Channon feels in his relationship with Jack. He's not ashamed anymore of choosing to let Jack take charge of a lot of things, but he's learning how to ask for specific things he wants in a way that makes sense to him and Jack. And they're both learning that if some of their dynamics change, it might be a good thing, and they'll figure it out together.

That sex scene in the hotel room was great and a little sappy, but boy if it didn't almost make me tear up!

And that bonus scene at the end? It was so sweet and great, I honestly wonder why it's a bonus scene. I really hope it's in the final file! I could argue it's necessary to show their evolving dynamics and, really, it's just great to see them trying something new where even Jack is not 100% poised and in control. Please?

I received a free copy of this book and am providing my honest review voluntarily.

Another fantastic addition!

I really love the way Jack talks through Channon’s feelings with him and how their relationship keeps growing and developing. It’s amazing to me how Robin manages to include new kinks and keep things fresh, along with developing the storyline (like with Channon’s family). I kind of hope this series never ends. ❤️

Oh boy! This episode of the brilliant HBND series sees our lovely Channon bloom like never before! His development through this book's events are wonderful and fist bitingly hot. Jack's patience and support makes him even more perfect and together they are simply perfect.
This can not be read as a standalone - it's a developing 'serial' type book which must be read in order. But if you haven't started it yet - I cannot recommend it enough.

This wasn't my favorite episode. I admit that I'm not a huge fan of "daddy" kink and then to tie it into an episode when Channon has to deal with his real dad, didn't do it for me. I do like that they stumbled on a way for Channon to ask for things but this whole episode felt untethered and squishy. I didn't think the way the "daddy" kink came about strengthened what they have. It felt like a cop out on dealing with the actual daddy issues Channon has and Jack felt more like an enabler that makes Channon weaker when that's never been a flaw of his before. Nobody is perfect, but this seemed like a bad way to fail.

Experiencing the evolution of Jack and Channon's relationship has always been entertaining, but this episode hit me on a deeper level. Before reading this, I would have confidently said that nothing from Channon or Jack's past could surprise me, but the intensity of the family drama in this episode was entirely unexpected. I found it equal parts fascinating and distressing to learn how toxic Channon's relationship with his dad was, and it broke my heart to know how deeply it affected Channon. I think just about everyone can relate to how emotionally exhausting it can be to interact with a difficult person, and I was so proud of Channon for holding his ground when it would have been easier to walk away.

The majority of this episode was less about Jack and Channon's relationship and more about Channon grappling with new desires and needs that he couldn't vocalize to Jack. It's not that any part of Channon and Jack's dynamic was unsatisfying--that much was abundantly clear from the delightfully steamy activities they got up to--but that people grow and change and learn new things about themselves in the process. I personally found it refreshing to see Jack acknowledge that Channon could have some autonomy, even if their relationship will always involve a power exchange. For all the family drama and discomfort, I thought Channon and Jack handled things as well as they could have--and as a bonus, I got to meet two of the sweetest kids that I'm hoping will make guest appearances in future episodes. After an emotional rollercoaster of buildup, Jack and Channon did finally have a breakthrough moment where they accepted and embraced a new facet of their romantic relationship and let themselves be vulnerable and honest together. My heart feels so full of happiness for Jack and Channon, despite the somewhat unclear resolution to the family plotline, and I'm once again reminded that even if I don't always understand the things they do, they only ever do them out of unconditional love for each other.

**I voluntarily read an ARC of this book. This review expresses my honest thoughts and opinions.

I could honestly read about Jack and Channon forever. It's so amazing to see how far their relationship has come. Channon grows in confidence more and more with each episode and I adore him. I love how Jack is his demanding, controlling sir but also his biggest supporter who loves him so much. The only problem is that these episodes are not nearly long enough. Already looking forward to the next one!

The good
+ Channon
+ Channon taking Ewan along with him to spend money
+ Channon being a dick to Ewan because he feels really comfortable around him
+ Channon standing up to his dad
+ Channon bonding with his siblings
+ Channon calling his dad an asshole
+ Jack praising Channon and complimenting him when taking care of him after they left Howard's house
+ Channon sort-of-safewording and Jack helping him out immediately
+ Jack acknowledging his mistakes from the past and vowing be do better for Channon
+ Trying out their new kink together. This one is just perfect for them
+ Jack casually saying they could buy a new sofa just because it got dirty

The bad
- The bonus scene really should've been a chapter of the original story, but I'm glad it was included

Quotes
x Channon was a treasure, and he was Jack's, and Jack was so fucking proud of him.

This was absolutely perfect. Their relationship has been heading this way for a while now, and I'm glad they both got to explore their new dynamic. Can't wait until the thing Jack has been hinting at for a while now finally happens... And for Channon to explore his new relationship with his siblings, especially Chase. Would definitely recommend this serial, it's a journey unlike any other.

Reading Robin Moray is time consuming---it keeps you up late, and you skip things. Because every time you read one---even a fairly short one---you want to go back to the beginning and soak up EVERY WORD SHE'S EVER WRITTEN. I've never read any relationship world this extended where I didn't lose some interest after the arc of the "conquest/now you're mine" phase ended (and I read a LOT---like, Kindle-Unlimited-was-losing-money-every-week-on-me a lot). But each new book in this series ratchets up the sexual and emotional exploration and heat so it feels like something fragile and new and edged with danger and wild desire. This is a world built on the secret wish of never losing that edge, never sinking into taking someone for granted, into champagne bubbles turned flat and an argument about taking out the recyclables. And at the same time, it's about growing up and learning how to set boundaries, about how much strength there is in vulnerability, about how growing up has no end goal, that it's really just growing and risking safely and learning to love the people you choose more deeply and accepting love in all its varied forms from them. And less philosophically, this book is about the belly-exposing nerves of exploring a Daddy dynamic with your Sir, how they differ and how they can co-exist. (It's HOT like fire. Maybe I should have just left it at that...) / (Reviewed ARC)

This newest series installment brings back a briefly touched upon role for Jack, in a scorching way. Daddy Jack is back!

Sometimes Channon has a bad day, and he's looking for something softer. Jack is more than ok with that. He just has to ask.

Channon finally gets to meet the rest of his family. The half-siblings that his father's hidden from him for 10 years. The way his father treats him is abhorrent. You can completely understand where all of the stress that leads to the catalyst of this episode is coming from and why Channon needs some extra attention and care. A must-read.

There are three separate notes to the story, but everything centers around this major development in Channon's life, and what sort of man he chooses to be. You empathize with these characters and genuinely feel for them as they grow. Channon is very lovable. Jack is sometimes flawed in his expectations for himself, but he strives to never fail Channon in his role as protector. Ewan is his usual bitey, but endearing self.

One of my favorite entries yet. I enjoy this particular topic, and the way it's written is uniquely Jack and Channon. 5/5

This installment of Channon and Jack’s story has plenty of heat, as per usual, and plenty of feelings as well. There are a lot of moments for growth and development, a few for Jack but most for Channon, who’s coming into his own in so many ways. I loved watching him gather the strength and confidence to ask Jack for what he wants as well as what he needs, and my heart broke for him even as I was so proud seeing him come to terms with the many, many ways his father has failed him. The events of this story are clearly going to have plenty of repercussions for both Channon and Jack in the future, and as fraught as that is, it’s ultimately, I think, a very good thing for all concerned. I also have to take a few moments here to give Ewan props for being an incredible friend: loyal, insightful, and blunt as only Ewan can be. He’s a great balancing agent in Channon’s life, and I especially love how he helps Channon see truths that Channon (and Jack) might otherwise gloss over: I don’t know how it’s possible to be simultaneously gentle and a battering ram personified, but Ewan does it with a flair uniquely his own.

Wonderful addition to the series

I love Jack and Channon.
Their relationship continues to change and evolve for the better.
I thought we were done with Channon's dad and I did not enjoy his his appearance here.
He is such a cruel and uncaring person.
I appreciated that Jack knows Channon is strong enough to stand on his own against his father and that he needed to experience the disappointment as a learning tool but my heart broke for his tender little heart.
Channon being strong enough to ask Jack for what he secretly desires, knowing that Jack would never deny him was everything.
Of course Jack being absolutely into it as well just made it that much sexier.
Ewan is his course his usual headstrong, bratty self but he does provide the occasional insight that Channon might have been oblivious to while also providing his unconventional support.
I love seeing Jack and Channon continue to explore and grow together.

I will never get tired of reading about Jack and Channon. Their love grows and evolves with each story. Channon has gotten stronger and more confident because of Jack's undying love. His new strength carried him through the meeting with his father and his brother and sister. I'm so proud of him. He is such a caring young man and his brother and sister are lucky to have such an awesome big brother.

Jack and Channon's time together is beautiful, loving and sexy. Jack is so good at getting Channon to reveal all his fantasies. The bonus chapter was HOT! I can't wait to read more scenes like that.

And, of course, I was so happy to see Ewan. He and Channon have become the best of friends and the time they spend together always makes me laugh. Ewan is such a character. (I can't wait to read more about him and Nate.)

39 episodes in and it only gets better and better!

Honestly, I hope this series never ends. The most recent episodes have centered around Channon coming into himself and exploring who he is and what he wants in life. In this episode, Channon is pushed out of his comfort zone as he insists on meeting his half-siblings and learns some unfortunate, ugly truths about his dad. There are a few spicy scenes, and they’re used to help Channon continue to explore what he enjoys s*xually and as a way for Channon to process the harder things going on in his life. Jack took a backseat in this episode, but I loved how supportive and loving he is with Channon. Ewan also pops up and he’s as entertaining as ever. He’s not who you’d think would be friends with Channon, but they actually do make sense together. I love their friendship! I’m looking forward to the next episode and I hope we get more of Ewan’s story soon.

Wow - where to start? This one is quite simply one of the best in the series. It’s got it all: A fascinating look at an evolution of the relationship between Jack and Channon, a stunning confrontation between Channon and his dad, the pleasure of watching Channon learn how to take a stand and relay his wants and needs, and much more. Yes, the great sex and kink is there (hey, that’s one of the hallmarks of this series), but just as satisfying is an episode where Channon has a long awaited event and an epiphany. And as if all that wasn’t enough, there are guest appearances by Ewan, everyone’s favorite brat from the HBND spin-off A Collar for His Brat. Readers of this series are going to be knocked for a loop every time they turn a page. This entry in the series is a game changer!

THE DAY HAS COME 😭
I don’t think I’m spoiling anything by saying that I have been waiting a long time for this to happen, and I must say MORAY DID NOT DISAPPOINT!! 😍

Seeing Channon and Jack’s growth in their relationship will never stop feeling terribly satisfying to me. I love how the author manages to show their improvements while not turning the whole book into fluff (which only ends up feeling unrealistic to me).

I don’t think I need to say that the sex scenes in here were FIRE 🔥 🔥 🔥 And I will be rereading this many a times, this is one of my favourite episodes in the whole series, I’m telling you.

Now don’t waste any more time and grab this in KU 🙌

I received an ARC of this in exchange of a truthful review, and all opinions here are my own.

RJ Moray continues the story of Channon and Jack, focusing mainly on Channon’s evolution (maturing?) of what he wants. The dynamic and relationship between them also evolves. Moray does an excellent job at describing what Channon thinks, how he sorts through his relationship evolution with Jack. Unlike some authors, Moray gets inside the characters’ heads and you are able to understand not only what is happening, but more importantly, why. Channon is faced with dealing with his father and their estranged relationship and how to reconcile his needs, his feelings, and his experiences with his father. This episode and its additional short at the end shows the changes in Channon, in Jack and how relationships evolve and change. Well done, RJ Moray. Well done, indeed.
