As such, the idea of a graphic novel using the same ideas—and written by two people of colour—was intriguing to me. After reading Electra Pritchett’s review in Strange Horizons I knew I had to pick up a copy.
There’s a lot to like here. The art style is simply awesome; the way in which the text is blended with the art feels very innovative and I think Pritchett really hits the nail on the head when she highlights how this approach blends with the therapy depicted in the book. The book is told, broadly, in a two-act structure, shadowing the play itself, and I enjoyed the first act very much. Unfortunately, the second act left me colder; parts of it were good, but the resolutions to both of the personal plotlines were very jarring to me, while the beautiful ambiguity of Chambers’ original stories seems to be completely absent from this retelling....more

I love Spider-Gwen as a character and this book was better than some of those that preceded it, but I really don’t think she got good plotlines.
