This was my fir “Somehow, somewhere along the way, I’d fallen in love … Not like or lust. Love, in all its terrifying, unpredictable, unwanted glory.”
This was my first read by the author and I totally understand the hype around her books. Such an engrossing and charged up story. I was hooked to the characters, the plot, the side characters-you name it. There was never a dull moment. I'm a sucker for arranged marriage romance and this one was simply splendid. Add in a super grumpy grump hero who falls hard and grovels even harder-absolute perfection.
Dante is forced into an engagement with Vivian due to being blackmailed. Marriage was never in his cards and he can barely stand this whole arrangement. He makes it clear from the very beginning to Vivian that this is purely a business deal. But Vivian is just as feisty and gives back just as good. She deals with Dante's grumpiness and rudeness with her own wit, humor and sarcasm. And slowly the way they start caring for each other is so heartmelting. Even the conflict in between was done right way and did not feel dragged out or unnecessary.
Dante is one of my favourite grumpy heroes. And the grumpier they are, the harder they fall you know. The way he transforms for Vivian and how caring and romantic he becomes when it comes to her-MAJOR SWOON. Also super possessive and makes sure everyone knows Vivian belongs to him. Absolute husband material I tell you. There's a really good groveling scene here and one of my top favourite scenes has to be this one.
Vivian is such a lady boss. Absolutely loved her and the decisions she took. I found her character really inspiring to be honest and how she does not let anyone look down upon her. And even when it came to Dante how she took her time and set the bar up there.
This has to be one of my favourite books of the year. You give me a good arranged marriage story and this girl is happy. And this book is a must read if you're a fan of the trope definitely,

This has to be the best book in this series. I was really excited to read Greta and Amo's story and What if you met your soulmate at the wrong time?
This has to be the best book in this series. I was really excited to read Greta and Amo's story and Cora Reilly delivered. The angst, the longing, the forbidden- this story was heartachingly beautiful. This gave Romeo Juliet vibes with two families at each other's throat and on the crossfire of it all was Greta and Amo. The emotions in this one was at an all time high, there were scenes that absolutely broke my heart and made me cry, and yet the strength of their love made it all worth it. The reason for my 4star rating is because of a specific trope that I usually avoid but since Cora wrote this book, I enjoyed the book despite it all.
The love story in this one is so pure and beautiful, like this book has some of the most romantic moments among all her books. The way the path of Amo and Greta crossed was so beautiful and magical, like straight out of a romantic movie that I could see happening in slow motion. Love at first sight is written so beautifully here. Their feelings for each other made my heart fly. But the brutality of their world has little place for a love like theirs that defies all boundaries. So with their heart in pieces, they are left with no choice but to cherish the little moments they can scrape by.
Greta is a very soft and kind character, she is an absolute sunshine in Amo's life, the light he needed in all this darkness. She is very fragile as the story starts out, but over the course of time she finds her footing and decides to choose her happiness in the end. I loved Amo's characters and how he went against his very being to bring his love to light, to make his love win against all odds. Their love story was not an easy one, with decisions that had grave consequences and altered the course of their lives all together.
I was really excited to read about my favourite characters from the first generation and you cannot expect anything less when it comes to Remo and Luca. Two alphas going head to head with their children in the crossfire-but in the end their love for their children triumphs above all.
We get to see the other children in the Famiglia and Camorra and given glipmses of the possible pairings in the next books. I'm really interested to read about Nevio as he's just as messed up as Remo. Also I'm intrigued about Alessio and I think he might get together with Isa? This whole bookish world and the characters have consumed me and I'm already ready for the next book....more

This book is just pure perfection. It has left me speechless, obsessed and absolutely in love with the whole thing. I jump started this book skipping the first book because when I heard it was a bodyguard and princess romance I just had to read it right now. And this book is a forbidden romance supremacy honestly. A broody over possessive bodyguard who just crossed every single line for his princess, and the the princess risking it all to give herself the happily ever after she deserves- ABSOLUTE PERFECTION. There's so much angst, tension, the push and pull and that feeling of losing the one you love. Their love was so full of fire and passion, it just absolutely consumed me.
RHYS LARSEN- this man ok. I cannot even just put into words what he does to me ok. If you need just one reason to read this book-well this is it. I love a jealous and possessive man in my romance books and boy this man needs to see Bridget dance in a royal ball with other prince's, let's just say we get to see a very different side to him after these moments. And I lived for it,everytime he said-you're mine-I was done for. The way he loved Bridget with everything he had and you just see him go against every single of his boundaries to just be with her. This man is everything.
Bridget surprised me ok. The way she stepped for herself I loved it. She was so caring and comforting towards Rhys and she was just the perfect counterpart to Rhys and I loved the banter and their inside jokes.
The romance was top notch in this one. The dialogues and the scenes are permanently ingrained in my heart and I know I'll reread this book whenever I'll crave a comfort story because this book is just that....more

This has to be the most heartachingly beautiful thing I've read in a while. This was intense, dark, angsty, passionate and just all consuming. As a lover of dark romance, this is such a well written fanfiction my god. The story picks up post war-but The Order has lost and Voldemort has put forward a breeding program to secure the wizard bloodline (the storyline being inspired from the Handmaid's Tale). Hermione is the remaining member of the Order and she is handed over to the most dangerous general of Voldemorts army, The high Reeve-aka Draco Malfoy. But Hermione has no memory and she struggles to find the tie between her past and the present and how Draco fits into her memories.
I'll just say that you'll just never be able to figure how the plot will unfolds-it simply blew my mind. The plot twists were insane and oh my poor heart. This is a dark romance with some very difficult scenes to read so fair warning. Do check the trigger warnings.
Ok now coming to Draco and Hermione- the angst, the passion, the way they literally burned for each other. Their all consuming love had me by the throat. The tropes in this book my god- the enemies to lovers but make it extreme, damaged villain with a heartbreaking back story, he would burn down the world for his love. The love story is intense and they are treading a dangerous path, one filled with hurt, sacrifice and death. I literally have no words to explain the depth and intensity of this story. This story has be obsessed and it is an all consuming story of true love....more

The longing and the heartbreak of not being able to be with the one you love was portrayed so beautifully in this book. And I always love a book where the hero falls harder for the heroine, would pour out his heart and soul to see her happy, even if it costs him what he truly wants.
Lady Kathryn needs to marry a duke in order to gain her grandmother's beloved cottage as her will states. Lord Griffith, her best friend's brother, helps her get the attention of the duke of kingsland. Kathryn and Griffith are always at each other's throat-teasing and taunting each other, but helping Kathryn land a husband is a different business all together. And slowly but surely Griffith realises that he might be giving away the love of his life to another man.
Griffith- oh this man is everything. Our man here fell hard for his Lady love and he goes along and just paints his business establishment in colors that represent her- HELLO NEED I SAY MORE? He saves a ribbon that Kathryn used for making plaits and preserved it as a bookmark. THIS MAN OH MY GOD HE JUST LOVES HER SO MUCH. And I loved how he comes to terms with how he truly feels for Kathryn. The writing is downright poetic when it comes to him and his feelings. I savored every thought and emotion that was written from his pov.
This book incorporated a lot of my favourite tropes including forced proximity, taking care when the other is wounded and also we have ballroom dances which I absolutely love. The tension between these two characters is insane and I loved the buildup between them....more

The angst, the banter, the anger, the emotions, the steam- everything was just so charged and my oh my I flew through each chapter. I am officially obsessed with this story and the world buildup.
The relationship between Draco and Hermione had so much heat oh boy. The enemies to lovers hit every single spot. I loved that the anger and darkness they both harbored pushed them more closer to one another, their bantering was so witty and was just oozing the underlying tension between them. I liked the grittier and darker side of their relationship, how they understood each other without even saying so, and the extent they went to for each other, to protect each other.
The fanfic takes place post the last book, and there are lots of plot twists I tell you and I loved every single one of them, cried my eyes out as well. This was one emotional read let me tell you. Also we have entries from Draco's journal. My poor heart shattered to pieces at times let me tell you. I loved the spin of this fanfic on the original story, it's super creative and engaging and story unfolds seamlessly, you'll keep flying through the chapters. This one might pull me back to reading fanfics again....more

I am a huge fan of Ava and Eli. This couple lives in my heart forever. Theirs is a journey I have felt in my heart and soul and when I saw that they are getting another book focusing on their struggles during college and going long term- I literally screamed in excitement. This is a book I did not know I needed in my life. I loved to witness their journey from high school, from sneaking around during their high school years to owning up to their responsibilities as they grow up.
Ava and Eli are facing a rough patch in their relationship. Their love for each other knows no bounds but they both can be really stubborn. But they both know how miserable they are without each other so it's about time they communicate properly, really let each other know what they are thinking and feeling, and own up to their decisions in order to truly live their happily ever after.
What I loved about this book is how real it felt. The problems Eli and Ava faced, the decisions and sacrifices, the fights and misunderstandings, the vulnerability and fear of losing your loved one forever- I just felt every emotion that this couple went through. Monica Murphy has a way of writing that just makes me feel so related to her stories no matter what. I highly recommend this book and do read the previous two books featuring this couple-so totally worth it.

I am What would it be like,to have this boy's heart? I wonder as I slowly drift off to sleep. Impossible,is what I tell myself. He doesn't have one.
I am downright obsessed with this story, the characters, the hate to love, the angst, the passion-lust-love, everything is just fuelled with so much power and boy the hunger between these two souls and how they just click together-I loved this story. Monica Murphy has outdone herself with this book. I honestly was bit skeptical as I'm very picky when it comes to bully romance, the balance when it comes to hate to love and she just wrote this book spectacularly. It is dark, gritty, raw, emotional and just downright addicting.
This story has Romeo Juliet vibes, two families whose paths should never cross again, and yet Summer Savage ends up in the prep school owned by the Lancaster's, right in the clutches of Whit Lancaster-the cold ruthless boy who is determined to turn her life upside down. Summer is not the weak girl he thinks her to be, she's the only one who won't bow down to him and fights him back every step of the way. But the secrets Summer carries are about to come out, Whit got hold of her journal hiding her deepest, darkest secrets and biding by his will is the only way Summer can stop him.
This book is unlike anything I've read in a while. Both these characters are damaged, dark, twisted and so broken on the inside. They spite each other only to come back to each other for more. Their souls see the darkness in one another and with every interaction between then they each get deeper into each other's lives, their hearts entwining and soon they are falling hard for each other. The hate to love is so intense, sizzling and the chemistry between Summer and Whit is just off the charts. It's just I hate you, I cant stand you but I'm obsessed with you, you're mine vibes and I WAS LIVING FOR IT.
Whit's character drew me in really hard. He was so cold and heartless from the beginning, he was mean to Summer and yet the one who cared for her fiercelessly, he was both her tormentor and her protector. I live for anti-heroes who end up being total mush for the girl and I loved to see Whit fall in love. Summer is a strong, feisty, bold and she owns upto herself. She has been through a lot and her story blended with Whit so well.Whit and Summer are my new obsession definitely....more

I am always up for a good mafia romance and this one surprised me in a really good way. This is not your typical mafia romance and I really loved how I am always up for a good mafia romance and this one surprised me in a really good way. This is not your typical mafia romance and I really loved how this book was packed with action and all the mafia politics here and there, as well as we get a passionate secret romance.
Having lost her husband within 5 months of her marriage, Julia has left the mob world behind her and is living her life away from the shadows of her past. A chance encounter brings her to the club of Domenico Bonacci, a man that rivals everything she stands for right now, a man she should stay away from, a man bound to her with the same past that tore away everything from her. But what she doesn't realise that Dom really has let himself free from the grasp of the mafia world and is currently a well established, legitimate businessman. Once they give in to their feelings for each other and embark on the journey of love, the darkness of their past threatens to shatter their life all over again.
This book left me surprised at every turn, I did not absolutely expect the turn of events in this book. I loved the thriller-mystery aspect of this book. At the very beginning of the book we are thrown into a scene of encounter and throughout the book bits and pieces are revealed and we keep getting deeper into the tangle of decisions that caused it all. It was honestly exhilarating to see Dom, who is your good guy who steps up in order to protect the ones he loves. This is definitely not your typical mafia book as it focuses more on the fact what happens when you escape an organisation like this one and the constant balance between right and wrong.
Coming to the romance, I lived for it. Their love was angsty, passionate and so emotional as well. I did shed quite a few tears over the course of this book. I loved the forbidden aspect of their love as they both come from opposite sides of an event that shaped their past and led them to where they are. For me this story had it all and I really enjoyed it....more

I am a puddle of emotions right now. This book was everything I want in a paranormal romance. I don't read this genre much and now I realize I definitely need to change that. I read this book as a standalone and I'm definitely going to be reading the rest of the books. This had friendship,romance,humor,steam,action-you name it. Conrad Wroth is a fallen vampire and to fix him his brothers imprison him in an abandoned manor. Only after some time does Conrad realize that he is not alone and there resides Neomi, the owner of the house who was brutally murdered. I do not want to say more as you know it is a love story between a vampire and a ghost and you have to read this book to know how that happens. I was definitely intrigued how their story would flow forward and it was done spectacularly. This was one of those books where I wanted to get to the ending but also didn't want this book to end.
Neomi and Conrad are so well written characters. Both of their characters just have the fierce and vulnerable sides merging together. Conrad was such an alpha but yet so respectful towards Neomi. Their relationship was flirty, romantic and so beautiful. They would go to worlds ends for each other.
I loved reading about the other characters and I'm super excited to read their books too....more

Obsessed would be an understatement to describe how I feel about this book. “I’d be yours forever, if you asked. Even if you never do, I already am.”
Obsessed would be an understatement to describe how I feel about this book. The fallen men series is one of my favourite dark romance series and Giana Darling never misses. I feel like I can never choose one single couple because I love every single one of them so much-adding Axe-Man and Mei Zhein to the list. The passion, the angst, the intensity of the hate and love, the steam-I loved all of it. This story has me completely consumed.
A murder bounds Axe and Mei together, hatred forces them apart, but after 8years Mei is back to tend to her best friend Cleo and nothing can push her away, not even the hate pouring out of her best friend's dad-none other than Henning Axelsen aka Axe-Man. The forbidden aspect of this love story be it the age gap,the best friend's dad aspect-was delicious. It was done so well, the angst and push and pull my god. The characters are really well written, their past and present, their thoughts all of it is explored and just binds the whole story together beautifully.
Axe-Man is an absolute savage in the best way possible might I say. I loved how fiercely protective he was when it came to the people he loved. It took some time for him to come around to his feelings, but boy this man can love. Mei is just the most badass dark romance heroine. She embraces the darkness in her and shines through....more

An angsty, emotionally charged story, a couple whose story will pull at your heartstrings, make your heart yearn for them. This story was pumped up,full of adrenaline and sizzling chemistry, you won't be able to put this book down until you get to the bottom of these two characters and see them seek their happily ever after.
River Tate is loyal to his core to his frat brothers, he's the president of his house and he is the rock for his brothers. But when Anastasia walks into his life, he did not realise he had orchestrated his own ruin. She is forbidden, she is not his to think about. But neither of them can deny the fine string that pulls them together, that calls to them every moment. River knows he cannot cross the line and his brothers come first, but when things fall apart for Anastasia, River is the one to come to her rescue and they form a pact to get what they want-but what comes out of the pact might be something they both had not been prepared for.
If I'm the twitching devil, you're his crazy henchman.
From the beginning you could just feel the connection between River and Anastasia. I love stories with the vibe of star-crossed lovers. It's like they are meant to be in every way but timing is not in their favor. So you just have to see it play out, go through the heart ache and the longing and the author carved out their story beautifully. You see them forming a friendship, witness them navigating through the connection they feel for each other and finally realize what they truly want, and how far they are willing to go to give their feelings a chance. The story is super angsty, a lot of back and forth and heartache, it's super emotional and so raw and beautiful. I loved every second of it. They had that connection always simmering beneath the surface and when it finally bubbled up, their love was just explosive and all out.
The more nuanced a man's soul, the deeper he loves. It's forever kind of thing, the kind that's written in the stars.
River stole the show for me here. He's a complex character and boy he had a story to tell. He was loyal, compassionate, vulnerable and went all out for the ones he cared about. He is such a pure soul. I loved reading about his character and there was so much depth to his character solely. Anastasia was someone I admired, who did not let anyone walk over her or define her by her past. She owned upto her story and had a heart made of gold.
They say the eyes are the windows to the soul, and I see his. I am his everything.
This story had such simple moments written so wonderfully that just added so much more to the story. There was this one part where River and Anastasia just drive around, talk about nothing specific and everything, enjoy their presence- that scene itself is so ordinary and yet it just adds so much more to their story. Little moments like these are spread out throughout the story that make you believe in this story, that makes you hold on to their love and this story.

But Zachary Messiah wasn't only imprinted on my heart, he was entwined with the very fiber of my soul.
Holy shit. Bring on all the angst in this supe But Zachary Messiah wasn't only imprinted on my heart, he was entwined with the very fiber of my soul.
Holy shit. Bring on all the angst in this super edgy and raw ,second chance, enemies to lovers sports romance. The push and pull, the longing, the hate and fire, their fierce love- I lived for every single emotions these characters went through. This story was so engaging and angsty, I pulled an all nighter to finish this one and like I was restless until I knew what would happen between them.
I figured first love was supposed to leave that kind of mark. An everlasting stain on your soul. But I'd underestimated just how much it would affect me still every time I heard his name."
Calliope starts college as a new slate, as a promise to her mother to move on with her life. But coming face to face with her first love-Zachary Messiah was not something she had expected. He was her everything and then one day within a blink of an eye, everything fell apart and Calliope is yet to understand what actually went wrong between them and pulled them apart. But a love like them cannot just end and so when they come face to face, hate and love struggle to take upper-hand, they push each other away only to collide back together.
Calliope James was under my skin. She'd never left. But all the love I'd once felt for her was now something else entirely. Something darker and volatile. An unpredictable storm brewing beneath the surface.
I freaking lived for the angst in this story. Every single page was charged with the energy between them and how hard they were just trying to just not give into their feelings. I felt the adrenaline running between Zach and Callie, the jealousy, the hurt, the love-everything was just full on. The storyline flowed parallely along with their chemistry and we got to know both these characters, we got them as individuals along with getting to know them as a couple, their history, their journey and their ups and downs, their own story as themselves. I just loved how raw this story was which made is so believable. Because as you transition from teen sweethearts and grow into something more things tend to get messy and I just loved how the author showed their story with all their flaws and emotions. You get two individuals who are mad for each other and yet they are burdened by their insecurities, their past which holds them back. It was beautiful to read their story and I loved every single second of this story.
I loved how L A Cotton took the time to blend the storyline with enough space for the characters to grow, for us to root for them in their journey as individuals. We get family drama, friendships, basketball and college drama in general. This was an addictive read honestly, one I just couldn't put down. Also, this book as an amazing playlist which just blends seamlessly with the story. So I highly recommend to listen to the playlist as well.

Instead, I stared. I stared at the girl that was my heart displaced outside my chest. Only with her did I ever feel this agonizingly alive.
As a read Instead, I stared. I stared at the girl that was my heart displaced outside my chest. Only with her did I ever feel this agonizingly alive.
As a reader if I could talk about one book that would just have all my reading preferences in a book, this book would be it. It is deliciously dark, an anti hero that just pushes at every single boundary-a true alpha, a sunshine of a girl who thrives in his darkness and a love that feeds on the fire and passion between these two. The age gap, the striking contrast between the grumpy-sunshine trope, a plotline surrounding a notoroious serial killer that keeps you hooked till the end, add in an emotional storyline and what it truly means to love a person with all their darkness, all their flaws and bloom in that love. This book just meant everything to me. I loved it so much I cannot explain. Giana Darling promised us a dark romance and she delivered it phenomenally. So do read the trigger warnings before diving into this book.
For the first time in a long time, I felt my heart in my chest, beating too fast, too hard against its confines like a rioting prisoner.
Bea is a sunshine drawn to all things dark. But the club enforcer, Priest McKenna , a killer ,a psychopath,an embodiment of death not only draws her in,but her heart is wrapped up in the darkness of that man. He is not a simple man and he makes sure to bare himself to Bea, bare his dark soul to her and make her realise what it really means to be with a man like him,a man who is devoid of all the light and warmth Bea stands for. But overtime Bea proves herself to be his true equal, the sunshine girl who drinks in and thrives in the darkness of Priest. Their relationship is explosive, passionate and oh boy the steam in this book is just off the charts.
Loving me is a fate worse that death," he warned me, hatches battened down so he was once again a living sculpture, breathing but unanimated.
I love it when authors manage to write an all consuming love story as well as give space for the characters to have their own story. I loved the fiery love story between Priest and Bea, but even more I loved to know Priest, the history of this man and what broke him and turned him into who he is. I appreciated to know about Bea and how she was tired of pretending to be someone she was not, for her to finally embrace the shadows that played in her soul.
"Feels too fuckin' good havin' someone like an angel in these bloody hands." He pulled back to grin menacingly. "Feels like blasphemy to hold you like this. "
Priest is a true alpha, possesive as hell and so when a killer sets his eyes on his girl, you just see that animal come out of Priest. He moves heaven and hell to end the twisted games of the serial killer haunting the Fallen MC. This story is bloody, raw, passionate and one that will be engraved in your dark heart. My dark romance readers this book is a treat for us honestly.

“You’re neither my first choice nor my second choice. You’re my only choice.”
I loved the forbidden, angsty aspect of this book. Lina Santos is a wed “You’re neither my first choice nor my second choice. You’re my only choice.”
I loved the forbidden, angsty aspect of this book. Lina Santos is a wedding planner whose path crosses with Max, the brother of her ex-fiancé who left her at the alter. Now they are supposed to work together for a big project. The enemies to lovers, the banter, push and pull was spot on. The angst was real in this one as both of them are trying really hard to deny the undeniable chemistry between them.
Lina is a very headstrong and bold character. I admired her strength, her hard working nature and how much she grew as a person to be where she is. But to protect her heart and her super emotional nature, she has put up a shield around her true-self and the fact that Max is slowly breaking down those walls is freaking her out.
Max is a dream boyfriend. He is such a swoon worthy and precious guy. He sees Lina for who she truly is and gives her the space and safety to be her true vulnerable self, to let her know that it’s okay to let your guard down around the ones who care about you, and that it’s okay to be carefree once in a while.
Both these characters are bound by the shackles of their past that stops them from giving in to each other, to trust in what they are feeling for each other. I loved to see these two characters navigate their feelings throughout the book and give their love a chance.
This was a romcom that made me laugh, made me swoon and at the same time it was heavy on the emotions and feels. I was left quite emotional by the end of this book. This is a very character driven book and I loved how the author took the time to develop each of the characters, make them so real and vulnerable, so relatable.
The only issue for me was how long their denial about their feelings dragged on. Like till the very last part and suddenly within few pages we get confessions, misunderstandings, more push and pull and then everything gets solved in the span of a few pages....more
