Okay! So I went into this book with very low expectations. I've seen a few negative reviews and I thought it was going to be similar to some other fae books I've read recently *cough* ACOFAS *cough* HOWEVER, I was very pleasantly surprised by how good it turned out to be!
I've honestly enjoyed everything about this book except for one aspect (hence the 4 stars) but other than that, I was very impressed.
Mini rant *minor spoilers* ➨ Being abused does not give you the right to abuse other people. ➨ Being abused does not justify you abusing other people. ➨ I feel like that’s the one aspect of the book that could have been done way better. I usually love the enemies to lovers trope but not when abuse is involved. Rant over.
The good stuff ➨ Super fast paced. I honestly didn’t expect to fly through this book the way I did. I couldn’t put it down. ➨ The ending was an avalanche of wtf just happened moments. I LOVED IT. ➨ Morally grey characters/ possible anti-hero mc and I am SO here for it. ➨ The amount of plot twists in this book was unreal. ➨ Interesting family dynamic. ➨ Sisters drama. ➨ Betrayal, spying, and murder. ➨ High stakes. ➨ Political intrigue.
I need more!
Overall, this is one of those books people either love or hate so you have to try it for yourself and see, but I would definitely recommend it.

“If you only shine light on your flaws, all your perfects will dim.”
Hands down one of CoHo's saddest books, it's definitely up there with Hopeless and Too Late. I woke up with a headache from all the crying last night. I would advise being in the right mood to read it because it can be emotionally draining, especially if you're not in the right mindset.
All Your Perfects was so different from the books I usually read. The issues dealt with are more mature than the usual plots I go for and that was super interesting. Although I wasn't able to relate to some of the things the characters were going through, I could definitely empathise with them.
One of my favourite things about this book is the way it describes long term relationships and marriages.
“Our marriage hasn’t been perfect. No marriage is perfect. There were times when she gave up on us. There were even more times when I gave up on us. The secret to our longevity is that we never gave up at the same time.”
I don't think I can do this book justice with a review. If I had to describe it in one word it would be 'important'.

They killed my mother They took our magic They tried to bury us Now we rise.
Where do I even begin? This book was so much more than I expected and I expected a lot . I’m usually wary of hyped books because you guys know how the hype can be a freaking liar. However, a YA fantasy featuring an all black character cast and written by a Nigerian-American writer. I am so here for it.
[image] Zélie ticks all the boxes of a great main character. Strong female character? Tick. Tragic backstory? Tick. Loyal to her family? Tick. Relatable, kickass, and brave? Tick, tick, tick.
Amari is probably the character who developed the most throughout the story. From a fragile princess to a warrior. I loved reading from her point of view and seeing her grow from a puppy to a lionnaire *roar*
Inan ♫ I knew you were trouble when you walked in ♫ *drags hands down face* Ugh.Yes, I fell for it. He was just… he was so… I thought…
I knew he was trouble, you knew he was trouble, Zélie knew he was trouble but we’re just all idiots.(view spoiler)[Inan betrayed us in the worst way and at the worst time possible. We lost Baba because of him and I am not okay. (hide spoiler)]
Tzain is just a giant teddybear that you want to cuddle all day. All he wants to do is protect his family but he always ends up being the one to clean up everyone’s mess. I’m very curious to see what Tomi Adeyemi does with this character in the next books.
The king I just kept picturing him as Donald Trump for some reason. A very tan Donald Trump. [image] The magic system was hands down one of my all time favorites. It is very well thought out and I feel like there’s still so much more to explore in the next two books. I loved seeing all the different clans and what each power could do. You don’t wanna mess with them burners . Also, there’s actually a quiz to determine what Maji clan you belong to! (click here to take the quiz)
[image] I said it before and I’ll say it again. I ship all the ships in this book even the ones I shouldn’t * cough* (view spoiler)[ Zélinan (hide spoiler)] * cough*. (view spoiler)[Here’s the thing, I’m a huge fan of the enemies to lovers trope and I think that’s why I wanted it to work so bad. UGH! Why did you betray us, Inan! *sobs dramatically* (hide spoiler)] --------------------------------------------- Overall, the whole book is a big metaphor for everything that has been going on in the world and that’s why it’s so powerful. If you haven’t read it yet, GO. READ. IT. NOW.
How am I supposed to wait a whole year for the next book? That ending! I need answers!

Initial thoughts You know when you finish a book and just sit there staring at the wall? Well, this is one of those books. I'll write a full review as soon as I'm done staring at the wall....more
