I thought the series had ended with Champion, the third book in the series, so imagine my surprise when I discovered that there would be a fourth book, named Rebel, set to release in 2019!
Rebel is an interesting addition to this already successful series. It features a lot of the characters that you know and love from the previous book, give or take a few, and a few new interesting characters as well. The story is told by alternating viewpoints between Daniel, (yes, that Daniel from the original books), and his brother, Eden. This was interesting because we got to know Eden a bit from the previous books, and it was interesting to see inside his mind. We also get to see a lot of June as well, and I loved getting to see all that she had been up to since the previous story.
I was super curious to know how the storyline would go for this book, especially considering the way Champion left off at the end. The story felt brand new, with very few references to the original storyline, so that was interesting. I don’t know if there is going to be more books after this one or not, but the end of this book wraps up nicely, and it feels like we’re getting some of the closure that we didn’t get with Champion. I am very happy with the ending of this book.
Overall; Rebel was definitely and interesting addition to the Legend series, and I am really glad that I chose to read the book. Was it a necessary addition, not really, but it was nice to fall back into the world that Marie Lu created, and to get to see some of our favorite characters again, after such a long time away. I definitely enjoyed it, and if you decide to read the book, then I hope you do as well!

I was a little late to the party when it came to reading The Darkest Minds trilogy, but I just recently finished the series, and I really enjoyed it! And I was thrilled that I finished the books just in time for this first new series to release, and I really enjoyed it as well!!
The Darkest Legacy is the fourth book in The Darkest Minds series, and while it’s set in the same world as the previous books, the story is told from Suzume’s point of view this time around. The storyline for the book picks up a few years after where In the Afterlight leaves off, and though 5 years have gone by, the world felt very much like it did in the previous books, with prejudice and hate against the Psi kids, despite all of the fighting that Suzume and others have done for the rights of these kids. When one horrific event goes wrong, Susume finds herself on the run once again, doing her best to stay alive.
The storyline for this book very similar, yet very different to that of the previous books. It was interesting to see the story through Susume’s eyes, including the flashbacks that had happened over the past few years. SO much has happened over that time, though it feels like very little progress was made, which felt very realistic to the world today, unfortunately. The storyline for the book was definitely addictive, and I was hooked on the story. The book ends in a way that will definitely have you pining away for the next book, and I am hoping that we will get information for that book soon!
As I mentioned above, this book is told from Susume’s point of view, and I love that she is our narrator! She was so quite through most of the first three books, and I really enjoyed getting to know her more in this story. The book has a lot of interesting new characters, as well a some of the characters we know and love from the previous books, and I love this the most about the book! I’m super curious to see what’s going to happen next for ALL of these characters.
Overall; fans of The Darkest Minds series will definitely want to check out this newest book! I really enjoyed diving back into this world, and I really can’t wait to see what’s going to happen in the next book, which I can’t seem to find any information on, but will definitely be keeping an eye out for! I really enjoyed this book, so check it out!!

I really needed to know what was going to happen next, even though I knew reading this book would make my wait for War Storm that much harder. I started the book anyways, and now I need the next book in my hands ASAP!
I don't want to mention too much about the storyline and spoil anything for anyone who hasn't yet read the book (or the series), but I think I can mention a few things. King's Cage picks up right where Glass Sword leaves off, and since, as I mentioned above, Glass Sword ends with a pretty massive cliffhanger, I was dying to know what was going to happen next for Mare and the rest of the characters in the story. This book is yet another wild ride, full of quite a few twists that I totally didn't see coming, and a few I actually did. It ends with yet another cliffhanger ending, and I'm currently dying once again to know what's going to happen next!
Even though I'm kicking myself for not having read the second and third book in the series sooner, I'm actually glad that I waited, because that has given me the opportunity to read the books back-to-back, which has been really awesome. Having to wait a year or more to get my hands on the next book in the series would have made me crazy. Just having to wait a little over a month for War Storm is totally going to make me crazy, and that's just a few weeks! Gah! Haha!
Overall; King's Cage was an excellent addition to this already fascinating series, and I'm now eagerly anticipating getting my hands on War Storm as soon as it's released next month! And, thank goodness I don't have to wait too long for it to release, as I know that wait would kill me. Here's hoping for great things with War Storm!

At the beginning of 2018 I set a goal to get caught up on some of the book series that I had started in the past, but had never finished. The Red QueeAt the beginning of 2018 I set a goal to get caught up on some of the book series that I had started in the past, but had never finished. The Red Queen series by Victoria Aveyard was one of the series at the top of my list, and I especially wanted to get caught up on it before the last book in the series, War Storm, is released in May. I originally read Red Queen way back when it was first released, and really enjoyed the story, but somehow got behind on the series over the years. I'm determined to get caught up on it this year, and after re-reading Red Queen last month, I was *finally* able to start on Glass Sword, and I really enjoyed it as well!
One thing I like about this series is that it has a lot of great characters. While most of the ones we know and love from the first book around still around in Glass Sword, we are also introduced to a LOT of interesting new characters as well. I love them all, old and new, but the one character that still managed to surprise me was Mare. She's quite the fighter, definitely a favorite of mine, and has been from the beginning. I'm really curious to continue the series to see what fate the next book holds for her and her group of friends.
Glass Sword picks up right where Red Queen leaves off, and I was super curious, especially after that cliffhanger ending in Red Queen. This book kept me guessing on what was going to happen next, and it never felt like there was a dull moment when reading it. And, of course, this book also ends with a pretty massive cliffhanger ending, and I'm DYING to start Kings Cage to see what's going to happen next. Luckily I don't have to wait long to start that one, since it has already been released, and I just know I'll be pining away for War Storm once I finish it.
Overall; Glass Sword was an interesting sequel to Red Queen, and I'm super curious to see what's going to happen next in Kings Cage! It looks like I may actually get caught up on this series before War Storm is released, and I'm pretty excited that I will get to read that book along with everyone else! (Fingers Crossed.) If you read and loved Red Queen, but have not yet continued along with the series, you should definitely do so! Enjoy!

Obsidio, the third and final book in The Illuminae Files series by Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff was definitely one of my most anticipated books of MaObsidio, the third and final book in The Illuminae Files series by Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff was definitely one of my most anticipated books of March, and I'm SOOOOO very thrilled to have finally read the book! Though I didn't want to see this series come to an end, this was definitely the best ending ever, and I'm so glad to have had the chance to read it!
I originally read Illuminae back when it was first released, but somehow Gemina had gotten pushed back on my TBR, and I didn't read it until this year, when I decided to start the series over again from the beginning. I opted to re-read Illuminae in audiobook format, just to refresh my mind so that I could finally start Gemina, and that was seriously the best decision I have ever made. I have listened to a LOT of audiobooks this year, but the ones for this series are definitely my favorite, and I'm so glad I chose to read Gemina and Obsidio this way as well. Not only are the books narrated by a full cast of characters, but you also get sound effects as well, which makes the audiobook even more interesting. This is not some bland narrator reading the story to you, this was so much more. And I loved it. If you have the opportunity to check out this series in audiobook format, DO IT!
Ahem, moving on...
The storyline for the book picks up right where Gemina leaves off, and it doesn't waste any time throwing you right back into the story. I had absolutely no idea what to expect when starting this book, especially after the ending of Gemina, but wow, this story was quite a ride. I don't want to go into too many details and ruin anything for you, so if you want to know how things end, you'll have to read the book yourself. *wink*
Also, while there are some familiar characters that we've met from the previous books in the story, there are also a lot of new characters as well. I actually love that book has a different set of characters as the story goes along, but that all our favorite ones are still around as well. With each book I find new people to like, and I love that! Asha and Rhys were both great characters, and I loved seeing Kady, Ezra, Hanna, and Nik again as well!
Overall; Obsidio was an excellent ending to a really awesome series! I can't say that I've read too many books or series like it so far, and I loved every minute of it. I really don't want to let the characters or story go, at all, but thank goodness I have both the books and audiobooks, so I can re-visit them again anytime I want to. (And I most definitely will.) Still, I don't want it to end! *Pout* If you've not yet checked out The Illuminae Files series, or read this final book, you must do so! And I hope you enjoy it just as much as I did.
