Needless to say, considering the author, they are all well-written. I enjoyed all three of the novellas; but I think that the second one “Strawberry Moon” was the most interesting particularly the scene between Cody and the retired Nebraska school teacher. Cody was fourteen when he was arrested and sentence to death. He spent fifteen years on death row. The teacher sent him paperback books (the only ones allowed by the prison) every month then Cody would write her about the book. I found the conversation between them on the day of his execution fascinating. He could barely read when arrested and on day of death he was a well-read articulate young man with a great vocabulary. I was intrigued at the choice of books she sent him and which ones he liked best and read many times. He only wanted fiction. This was an enjoyable fast reading book.

He died five months after his wife died of breast cancer. I was surprised to discover that so much of Dillard’s life followed that of the author. When reading about Caroline’s (Dillard’s wife) battle with breast cancer in book it had a ring of truth. Now I know he was writing from his own experience. Like Dillard, he also had two children a boy and girl.
This book felt like it was taken right out of today’s headline. The story has to do with three black university football players accused of raping a white female exotic dancer. In the story the Klan and a militant black group start fighting. The book is well written and is fast moving. I shall have to check and be sure I have read all of Pratt’s books then I am going to hunt for another legal thriller author to read.

The book is well written. The story is plot driven. The reader must stay alert as the story has many moving parts. The characters are interesting. At times I felt the story could have moved at a faster pace but that might just be the mood I was in while reading it. I hope that Abrams continues to write more legal thrillers.

There was less action in this book compared to prior books, but a bit more courtroom drama than the previous book. The book also provides a peek into the recording industry of Nashville, Tennessee. I was a bit surprised by the ending of the story. If you are looking for an interesting legal thriller series, you might want to take a look at this series.

I am not sure why it has taken me so long to get back to reading this series. I have thoroughly enjoyed reading it.
The book is well written and moves right along. I enjoy the various characters in the series. I find it interesting that the author, Scott Pratt (1956-2018), has Joe Dillard’s wife fighting metastatic breast cancer in the last few books. It makes the characters seem more real to me as well as how cancer has affected the whole family. It is not what I expected to discover in a legal thriller. In this book we are introduced to a new character; she is Charleston Story known as “Charlie”. She is just out of law school and is working for Joe while waiting to take the Bar examination. This story has no dramatic courtroom drama.

But, when Connelly spun-off the Lincoln Lawyer Series with Bosch’s half-brother as, Micky Haller, a defense attorney I became a fan. Besides, Bosch often did some detective work for Haller.
The book is well written. The characters are interesting and the suspense kept me up reading. In this story Haller is charged with murder and he decides to defend himself with the help of his firm and Bosch. The courtroom drama is great. If you enjoy Connelly’s writing, you definitely must read this book.

The book is well written and is realistic. The characters are interesting. I chose the book because the story takes place in Northern California’s Humboldt County. The protagonist is Garrett Goodlove, a criminal attorney. In this story he is defending an elderly lady, or, as the author puts it, a “jolly babushka” named Asksana Ivanova. If you enjoy legal thrillers, give this book a try. You will not be disappointed.

Jack Carney is a civil attorney who has an average quiet life. Suddenly his best friend kills a man in police custody in full view on the T.V. news. Carney is determined to defend his friend against everyone’s advice. What happens, how he goes about it, what he learns about his friend and the victim kept me glued to the book. The story is low key with no melodramatics which makes it even more exciting. I highly recommend this book.

The book is well written and the characters are realistic and interesting. The plot is well thought out. This legal fiction has a feeling of being real, probably because of the author’s experience in the courtroom. The main theme is the death penalty which is a common issue in recent legal thrillers. I am impressed by the author’s ability and skill. I will be looking for more books by Ponsor.

The book is well written, the plot twists and turns and the characters are interesting. Siegel has an excellent command of the English language. The story takes place in San Francisco. Daly and Fernandez used to be married but are now just law partners. This adds some spice to the story. Like Perry Mason, Daily tries to complete his case in the Preliminary Hearing but in this instance unsuccessfully as the case went on to trial. I am looking forward to reading the next book in the series.
