I loved the balance between storytelling and a non-fiction element that told you all about different types of witchcraft, historical trials and all in the witches arsenal. It was a really well written and greatly entertaining read.
The illustrations were also stunning and it’s a book I would read and reread again no problem. It’s certainly a book to have physical on your shelf. I’d love to see this beautiful story and accompanying illustrations in my hands as it would be a joy to flick through! It’s a must for all with an interest in witchcraft and its history.

I didn’t think I’d be able to slip into a new fantasy world so easily as my brain was more on quick, non-thinky reads and I didn’t think I’d be in for getting to grips with a new world. But I did and with ease!
The story itself was so addicting and I loved the world building and everything about it. Twelve was an instantly interesting character and I couldn’t wait to get to know more about her as the story went on.
We see her character build, friendships develop and quests set upon. I loved the adventure feel and I was so invested in the story, I always looked forward to getting back to it whenever I put the audiobook down.
And the audiobook itself was so well narrated, it had no problem bringing the story to vivid life and I was truly hooked. I’m so glad to have started a new series and so quickly became enamoured with it, that I know I have more to come in the series and can look forward to getting stuck in is a great feeling!...more

It certainly made cardio at the gym go a lot faster as I had the audiobook and it made for a great companion to the treadmill.
I loved the narrative from Rita Marsh and it made for a slightly unhinged, unguessable and intriguing plot. She was such an interesting character with many different aspects to her.
It had been on my library reserve list for a while and I’m glad I finally got round to it.
The audiobook was really well narrated too which went a big way towards my enjoyment of the book from start to finish. I really hope they’ll be a follow up to this one!...more

I sSo sad to have come to the end of this epic series! They’ve been absolutely amazing reads and I’ve so enjoyed spending my time with the Twitchers. I so hope there will be more in this series as I could read these books forever.
This one had a fab and exciting plot and saw Ava take the lead after she witnesses a thief in a museum whilst on a trip with school.
Hundreds of exotic birds have gone missing and the plot thickens when a mysterious raven feather is found at the scene of the crime. They have suspects, lines of enquiry to follow and they all divide and conquer to get to the bottom of the mystery.
I just love the friendships in this and it constantly warms my heart. They are such feel good reads and I’m so happy I came across this series. They’ve honestly been amazing and it’s a solid recommend to all to pick up Twitch and meet the wonderful cast of characters, you won’t regret it!...more

I hadn’t previously heard of this one but recently came across it so given how much I’ve enjoyed her others, this one wasn’t a hard pick up. I had no idea the first one was written by another author until the authors note at the end, so the fact she picked up the mantle to continue on Ted’s story was such a nice thing to do.
I hadn’t read the first one so hopped straight into book two so I may have missed some of the warming up to the characters I would have gotten but it didn’t work too bad as a standalone at all if you hadn’t read the first book before this one.
It was an enjoyable book, following a boy with Asperger’s as he comes to grips with a visit to New York, which is worlds away from the London he knows and loves. It was great for representation with a typical presentation of Asperger’s and made Ted perfectly suited to solving the case. The audiobook was also really well done.
It was greatly written with a compelling story of thievery and young detectives on the case to clear the name of the wrongly accused. I definitely think I need to go back and read the first one! ...more

Some were heartfelt elated victories, incredibly powerful and eye opening stories and some that left me astounded and in awe of both not only the amazing writing but the fact that they did so much justice to the horrors of war, the differing experiences of so many and the perspectives from humble farm owners to nurses out on the front line.
My only caveat is I got so drawn into some of the stories, I was so sad to see them end and wanted to read on for longer!
Every short story was truly just, wow. I can’t even think of the words to sum some of them up and have been left in awe of the strength and resilience that those during the war were forced to possess to survive. It was an incredibly powerful read and one I’m grateful to have picked up.

I took this as a holiday read and I truly enjoyed looking forward to coming home to it every day as it was just so easy to slip into. Effortless to read and I find they’ve always been so easy to absolutely annihilate the pages and that’s something that’s never changed spanning authors.
I loved this one and always find the mystery element great. I could honestly read these books again and again and always look towards the next with excited anticipation.

We meet some new friends, revisit old ones and rejoin the stories of those we’ve come to know over the last few books. I’m so addicted, they’re just so lovely and easy to read. They never fail to capture me and I always without fail, fall into the ‘one more chapter’ trap.
The war has seen them deal with many challenges and now, even though they have won the war, rationing is still very much in full force, the country is coming to grips with its losses and many men are still overseas - it’s not over yet.
The farm is busy as ever with its land girls busy providing food for the nation and bringing up a family, keeping relationships and friendships are all being tested. It all makes for such beautiful, heartfelt and inspiring reading. It’s another great one in a reliably awesome wartime series!

I really do love a Christmas read as the festivity, coziness and Christmas joy spans the pages and I get all the festive feels. And even though I’m reading this in September, I live in a state of perpetually being excited for December so these books provide me the hit of winter vibes that I love.
And back with Merry and a whole host of characters that I love really does feel like Christmas come early!
I love Merry and Nell and they really are tested in this book. They overcome so much and the story itself was so heartfelt, compelling, captivating and completely had me hooked. The ending too! Gah, I teared up. What an amazing read.

It was a really great story and one that was so compelling. The fourth Doctor will forever be an icon and the fact he’s written the book is reason alone. Who else could know the Doctor as well as the man who played him? And I’ve always loved Sarah Jane so it’s was a win win. Glad I listened to this!...more

It was the most perfect setting for such a spell binding Christmas romance. And when you meet the brooding, enigmatic and handsome manor owner, I think you’ll want to stick around Mistingham too…!
The Secret Christmas Bookshop was a perfect portal to escapism and I loved my brief stint in Mistingham so much (I absolutely annihilated this book and couldn’t stop reading it so my time there was fairly short. I had intended to slow the book down but alas. I could not. I shall return for a reread at Christmas I think. I absolutely fell in love with this town!).
The Demon Dark Lord of Mistingham, in all his grumpy glory, makes a great contrast to bounce off Sophie who both end up planning the four day Mistingham Christmas extravaganza.
I was completely taken by all the residents of the town and grew to love them so much in such a short space of time. I so instantly connected to the book and I’m so happy to have spent some in lovely Mistingham.
Oh and also there’s a Christmas jumper wearing goat so if that doesn’t get you reading, I don’t know what will!

It’s the first Robin Hood BigFinish I’ve listened to (have been unable to get my hands on the previous: The Witchfinders) and it was great.
BBC’s Robin Hood will forever go down as one of the best BBC produced shows for me (along with Merlin) and they forever have a special place in my heart. Probably the reason for the high rating as I honestly can’t get enough and the chance to listen to a whole new story to slightly expand the world I’ve loved and enjoyed so much was great.
Narrated by Jonas Armstrong, he regales the Merry Men with a story of his times in the Holy Land, when himself and Much (along with King Richard) find themselves in rather a bind. It was a great tale and one that was narrated well. Jonas managed to capture each of the characters amazingly and it made for really enjoyable listening.
The bonus end interview with Jonas and his experience on the set of series 3 was great too. My only slight wish was that they would have used the shows theme but it was greatly produced and I can’t wait to listen to the next few. I’m glad they made these !...more

This was such a great addition to his story and fills in some much needed and wanted gaps for us fans! Just how was Ianto and his adjustment after the events with Lisa? How did he cope after losing her with the team and getting back on his feet? Wonder no more, for herein lies the answers.
I think a lot of us have a connection to Ianto from the Torchwood show so having him back in BigFinish is great. It was so wonderfully acted and produced AND to have John Barrowman in this one too made it even better. I felt like it bridged a lot of gaps and really brought more of the Torchwood world to life.
I’m so glad they decided on this one and everything about it was a must listen for any fan of Torchwood....more

I didn’t expect to be so captured - the magic, the characters, the story was compelling and I didn’t even notice the page numbers go down.
I loved getting to know the twins - Rafferty and Juniper. The whole concept and idea of the magic in this magical world was so novel and greatly built. The world was so vivid and a beautiful setting for the book.
With magical inclinations set around the seasons, 13 years old go through testing to discover their predilection towards a certain season: spring, summer, autumn or winter. Occasionally however, an enchanter will emerge with the connection to all four. They are admitted to a special school to develop their skills which sees Juniper travelling to a new city away from all she has ever known.
Rafferty follows when he gets himself an apprenticeship but finds himself embroiled in mystery. He crosses paths with his sister and they find everything may be more connected than they ever could have thought.
I was absolutely hooked and was so sad to have finished it! This series is going to be absolutely brilliant and I can’t wait to rejoin the twins again on their adventures in Whetherwhy.

And this book was the most perfect companion.
The Pumpkin Spice Cafe (the first in the Dream Harbour series) completely captured me and I grew to love the cast of the town super quickly. I was super happy to return to Dream Harbour, and this time, getting the focus on a whole new character. And I’m also a sucker for anything book store related and I really did like Hazel’s character so it wasn’t hard to get into.
Hazel and Noah were kind of hinted at in the previous so a chance for them to develop their relationship in this book was great to read. She’s looking to get out of her comfort zone and have more adventures and Noah is more than willing to lend a hand if it means getting to spend some more time with her. It was cute, super romantic and kinda adorable and not to mention spicy.
