Introducir de la manera en la que esta novela lo hace la ciencia ficción a les más pequeñes me parece muy acertado. Por un lado, tenemos un mundo diferente, nuevas criaturas y decenas de cosas diferentes respecto a la Tierra. Es como que en cada página prácticamente tienes algo que aprender.
La historia tiene muchos giros en la trama que me han gustado. Algunos más que otros, no voy a negarlo, pero en general es una primera novela que mantiene enganchado y que consigue crear interés por el resto de las historias de Alex Colt.
Creo que Juan Gómez-Jurado ha conseguido montar un universo de sci-fi muy bien planteado con ideas muy interesantes -como MADRE- que espero que se desarrollen más en siguientes libros. Respecto a personajes me ha gustado la variedad de estos, y cada uno aportaba cosas diferentes que hacían de la novela algo bastante dinámico.
Recomiendo la lectura de esta novela, sí. Y estoy deseando leer ya la siguiente....more

Wonder. La lección de August es un libro que tenía pendiente de leer desde hace bastantes años. La gente no paraba de recomendármelo, pero no soy muy fan de las historias que siento que están hechas para que me emocione. Sin embargo, leí la primera página y ya estuve introducido en la historia. La manera de narrar de RJ Palacio es espectacular.
Uno de los motivos que me han llevado a leer esta novela, aparte de las recomendaciones de amigos, fue el tráiler de la película. Llegué a emocionarme sin haber conectado de manera previa con la historia, y que un simple tráiler lo consiga... omg.
No tenía nada que leer y decidí agarrar La lección de August. Es una de las mejores decisiones lectoras que he tomado en los últimos años. Qué historia tan bonita, qué bien contada, qué maestría para mostrar los sentimientos y narrar detalles... Estoy ENAMORADO de esta novela.
Cuando tras la primera parte (la novela se compone de ocho, si no me equivoco) veo que cambiamos de punto de vista y nos movemos de August a otro personaje, me sentí bastante decepcionado. Pensaba por aquel momento que la novela conseguiría llevarse cinco estrellas si continuaba así. Tengo debilidad por las novelas que tratan temas duros pero que son narradas por las voces de niños inocentes. Es como... complicado, y hace que los temas cuelen más hondo.
A decir verdad, me arrepentí casi de inmediato de haber sentido eso. El hecho de que Charlotte, Summer, Vía o incluso Miranda aporten su granito de arena a la historia hace que RJ Palacio le dé una redondez a la trama como pocas he visto. Cierra todos los puntos, todo lo que rodea al pequeño Auggie, y te ayuda a entender muchas decisiones o sentimientos mostrados por los personajes.
Se tratan ya no solo temas como el de la cara de August y sus amigos en el colegio, sino las relaciones de pareja, la familia, el aparentar ser algo que no somos para contentar a otros... Un sinfín de temas importantes que se tratan desde puntos de vista muy personales que le dan a la novela un profundidad mucho más humana.
¡Eso sí! Durante la lectura me arrepentí un montón de haber conocido a la autora y no haber podido darle las gracias por haber escrito esta increíble novela... Por aquel entonces no la había leído y ahora me arrepiento mucho, mucho. A ver si para la próxima vez me he conseguido leer el resto de libros que conforman el universo de August.

Una cosa que no me ha gustado tanto respecto a la primera parte es que no ha habido tantas escenas sexuales. Es decir, quizá sí las haya habido, pero no con el mismo morbo que en la primera novela. Esta segunda es mucho más romántica, y por lo tanto, las autoras supongo que han querido bajarle el tono a las escenas de sexo.
Hay muchas partes en Us que no me han convencido, aunque haya habido otras en las que he sentido que me cogían el corazón y hacían con él lo que quisieran. Ay, el momento de Wes con Reggie al teléfono. ¡Y todo el tema de mantener la relación de Jamie y Wes en secreto ha sido lo que más me ha gustado de la novela!
He sentido mucho algunas de las escenas, como ya me pasó en el primer libro. En este caso, me ha flipado la madurez de los personajes y cómo han afrontado los problemas. Creo que las autoras han sido muy valientes de plantear ciertos problemas hacia el final de la novela, mostrando la crudeza de las relaciones. No sé, ha habido una parte muy humana en la novela.
Me ha hecho mucha ilusión encontrarme en las últimas páginas el anuncio de que hay otras dos novelas del universo de Sarina Bowen y Elle Kennedy, aunque no es la historia que yo esperaba, supongo que le daré una oportunidad. Ya os contaré!...more

Esta segunda parte no defrauda. Durante aproximadamente la primera mitad de la novela estuve increíblemente sumido en las historias de Ava, Lily, Meredith o Tom entre otros. Me hizo mucha ilusión reencontrarme con los personajes que conocimos en Otoño en Londres (de hecho, ¡más de la que esperaba!), y fue bonito ver qué había sucedido en sus vidas.
Cómo juega Andrea con el concepto de Las Vegas de una manera muy inteligente, y durante la novela hay varios giros en la trama que sinceramente no me veía venir de ninguna manera y es que omfg. Odio cuando hay un plot twist de ese tipo, porque normalmente me los veo venir, pero aquí os juro que ni de coña. Así que bravo YASSSS.
Especialmente me ha gustado cómo ha manejado Andrea el misterio. Hay un misterio mucho más directo, con capítulos más cortos y al haber (creo) más personajes que en la primera parte -o si no hay más, están más desperdigados y no todos en el mismo lugar-, la trama se convierte en algo super adictivo. Nivel: te puedes tirar veinte páginas sin saber qué ha pasado con x personaje. Y yo sufría un montón.
No os voy a engañar porque ha habido alguna cosilla al final que no me ha convencido en exceso. Quien haya leído la novela, quizá entienda a qué me refiero. Más que un error de trama, es un error de tono, ¡pero no pasa nada! Creo que las cosas quedan de tal manera que en la siguiente novela encontraremos respuesta y seguro que me quedo s h o o k
Creo que Invierno en Las Vegas es una novela que engancha, que mejora en muchos aspectos respecto a la primera parte y que nos muestra a unos personajes que ya conocemos mucho más completos y maduros, con tramas más plurales y de las que deseamos saber más y más. Por fin he podido leer un libro. Y me alegro de que no haya sido uno cualquiera. He conseguido leer El sótano prácticamente de una sentada, en cuestión de horas. La manera de narrar de Natasha Preston ha conseguido que la historia no se me hiciera cuesta arriba en ningún momento.
El hecho de que tengamos un ambiente asfixiante como lo puede ser un sótano con cuatro chicas y un secuestrador al que se le va bastante la cabeza puede parecer de primeras algo que cansa... pero Natasha lo sabe y por eso nos narra la historia que se desarrolla fuera (con Lewis, el novio de la protagonista, buscando por todos lados a su novia) y escenas de Clover (el secuestrador, que da, sin duda, los capítulos más interesantes y tenebrosos). Me ha gustado también el juego con el tiempo, porque no todas las escenas se desarrollan en el presente, y eso hace que quieras saber lo que está sucediendo ahora y que te enganche más y más.
Que la autora utilice una novela así, de misterio y que parece no aportar nada extraordinario al género, para hablarnos del papel de la mujer en la sociedad me parece increíble. Desde la mente de Llover podemos captar que la autora ha sabido perfectamente qué mostrar y cómo. Le ha dado una pensada, y el mensaje queda más que claro. Amazing.

Es que esta señora nunca deja de sorprenderme. Si el anterior arco me gustó, creo que este (que además es el más largo de todos, con 8 libros en total), me va a encantar. Este primer libro del tercer arco me ha sorprendido bastante, y no iba con grandes expectativas.
Obviamente -y como siempre- hay partes en las que Sara Shepard no avanza demasiado la trama, o hace que esta parezca más floja. De hecho, me he dado cuenta con Twisted de que utiliza un formato interesante para que la trama avance, y que en este caso ha funcionado genial. Y claro, creo que por primera vez en todos los libros de la saga, ha conseguido que las escenas que parecían de relleno tuvieron su importancia en determinado momento. Bravo, queen.
En este libro tenemos nuevos personajes como Chloe o Zach que me han encantado. Sus tramas han conseguido que me vicie muchísimo a la novela, aparte de por las amenazas de las chicas por parte de A. Cuando consigues que un personaje que me presentas tan rápido me enganche es porque lo haces bien. Ay, estoy contento.
Tal y como están las cosas creo que voy a leer de seguido la siguiente parte. Es que no me puedes dejar así. Qué bien montado todo, de verdad. Me ha sorprendido mucho toda la trama de Tabitha, demostrando que Sara Shepard es una artista del engaño. Sinceramente creo que de un libro a otro mejora muchísimo.
Os recomiendo muchísimo la saga. Son libros rápidos de leer, que enganchan, con plot twists prácticamente cada capítulo y con unos finales de infarto. ...more
