I have however met many of the people from Sweden that went down there as UN troops. I had the opportunity recently to listen to this author at the Gothenburg book fair and had already decided to buy the book. I managed to get a few moments to speak with the author and get the book signed. Apparently there will be a tv series next year based on this book. Ett Halvt år, ett helt liv (Half a year, a whole life) by Magnus Ernström is the story not only about a young man who enlists to serve in the first UN battallion from Sweden (BA01) that went down to Bosnia to try and keep some order in a very bad situation. I found the book very interesting and well written with very short chapters almost in diary form. The author has made a good effort in researching the events that happened so he would avoid misstakes and he talked to a large number of people who where there. It is like most books about war, filled with very bad events but I think you need to put them on paper so we can learn what happened and not repeat the things that went wrong. I can really recommend this book and add that it was a fast read that was hard to put down....more

I love the historical and archeology bits in these books and this story about how to use water in the rivers is great. The setting with an assembly of people from both sides on a river raft journey is superb. To my surprise! Then there is murder and Chuck has to do what he has done before. Get to the bottom? With it. I must thank @this_is_edelweiss @torreyhousepress for giving me an advance copy and @sgrahamauthor for writing it.

They are literary masterpieces and should be obligatory reading. This one is very special because we get to know some of Archies background and where he comes from and we get to meet some of his kin. The book is as usual well written and filled with witty dialogu and humor. Ther is as usual a problem to solve and meals to eat. This is also one of those rare occasions when Nero Wolfe travels...

Interesting story although our hero is once again exposed. Assassin's Silence by Ward Larsen tells a story of a different kind of economical attack. WInteresting story although our hero is once again exposed. Assassin's Silence by Ward Larsen tells a story of a different kind of economical attack. We also get to meet Jammer Davies, maybe I need to read those books to since he sounds fun. This book is a wild ride through many countries and bodies. Will David Slaton unravel the mysterious group that has hijacked his secret bank accounts and threatens his widowed wife? Well, do like I did and read the book. I will not tell you. I only recommend it.
