She awakens to find that everyone she knew and loved had died and she had missed many important events in history. She is doing her best to navigate a new time while trying to understand her place in the business her father once owned. Anna Sheenan created a fascinating world in A Long, Long Sleep. I really enjoyed the technologies of the world as well as the characters. Her alien friend was my favorite. Sheenan also dealt with weighty topics with poise and delicacy. A Long, Long Sleep was a delightful read....more

I decided to listen to it so I could read each book in the Shiver series in a different medium. I read Shiver in e-book form, Linger on audiobook, and Forever in book form. The readers, however, were not my favorite.
I enjoyed returning to Mercy Falls to see how our werewolves were fairing. I particularly enjoyed the introduction of Cole and his unique challenge of being unable to shift. Grace started to bother me in this book, but I'm not sure if that was her character or the reader....more

Along with three other boys, Sage is trained to act as the king's long lost son. In The False Prince, Jennifer A. Nielsen has created a world on the brink of war, both civil and with neighboring countries. The story is told from Sage's perspective, and he is a rich and interesting character. I listened to the audiobook version and Charlie McWade perfectly captured Sage's character. The book is full of diverse characters. The other boys and Connor's right hand man being particularly interesting. I am eager to read the sequels....more

I am excited to read more from the world of Seraphina....more

I am sad this is the last book in her story because I am going to miss her. Mastiff was a great end to her series, however. We got to spend time with old friends (I listened to this book, so please excuse my spelling) like Tunstol, Lady Sabine, Pounce, and Achoo. Farmer Cape was a great addition to the cast. There is one plot point I'm still trying to wrap my head around. It feels a little unbelievable/out of character. All-in-all, I'm very pleased with this conclusion....more
