The Shadow of the Wind (The Cemetery of Forgotten Books, #1)

It's an interesting book, with lots of metaphors, maintains the interest and the mystery somehow. Provides a description of the prewar and post situation. But many characters are weak, even those who are delivering the story of Julian. They know the conversations and minute details of the scenes they were never present in. And the repetition of Julian story from different angles was much more than the story needed it. The last letter/manuscript given to Danial had so many details of conversations that the writer would have not known it and it took the charm of the whole book. That letter wrapped up the story making it easy to predict the ending.
