Read 2 times. Last read December 3, 2013.

** spoiler alert ** I feel lost after finishing this book, not the sense of loss after completing a great series, but I feel as though I'm unable to come to terms with the ending of the book.

The death of a character (main or otherwise), when executed well evoke strong emotions, but this fell flat.

I also did not like the way the book switched from Tobias's POV to Tris', after a while they lost their distinct personalities and just blended into one voice, I found myself having to check whose POV I reading a few times. The Tris and Tobias in this book were but a shadow of the Tris and Tobias that I read and loved in the earlier books.

The unresovled conflict was sidetracked by yet another new conflict between the GP and GD, and the arguments really didn't make much sense to me.

I remember feeling very strongly for the characters in the first 2 books, telling all my friends to read the books because they were that good. This book, however, was not and I cannot in good faith recommend the series because of this flat ending. It's not so bad I want to scream about it, I just feel so neutral and emotionless about this book, ugh.
