no fr omg. up until this point, the author had been brutally realistic about stuff that’s normally skimmed over in fantasy books and it was really funny— like the h is poor and never knows wen she’s gonna get her next meal, so snuggles a bunch of waffles in her pockets and everyone walking past her is like ??? 💀 but this was just... i could have done without the visual.

I dont know that I’ll ever see the word BALLISTIC the same way. I usually hear it when people are losing their shit during a tantrum but this author really used the term literally didn’t she? 😂🤦🏻‍♀️ Of course we all know what she means which makes it worse with supernatural creatures nearby with their superhuman hearing. 🤣

this is the thing! the supernatural element just makes all of this so much worse😭 it’s like an old world type fantasy setting too so it just conjures a lot of gross and dirty imagery... that i don’t want to imagine at all💀 she even shouts at them that she has the shits too (and uses the phrase “the shits”) idk how they managed to conjure romantic feelings for her after that declaration tbh.

this is the thing, im not entirely sure😭 the heroine uses a lot of modern, gen z slang but then her environment is very much medieval, game of thrones/the Witcher vibes. but im sure they also have guns? idk what the world building is at all it’s so confusing to read, honestly.

And was it just me, or did it feel like she was vomiting like every five minutes too? 🤨 Even at times when vomiting seemed like an EXTREME reaction to the situation. At that point, I was like the girl must have a…..unique 😟😳…..perfume…..smelll……going on. Especially with the ballistic diarrhea she just had….It felt very unsexy, to say the least. 😅😅😅

i agree! everything about this book was just… weird and deeply unsexy😭 it was funny for a surface level read, but i couldn’t get into it really nor take it too seriously, honestly. i abandoned the series after book two— it was just so messy with unlikable characters :/

I’m SOOOOOOOO glad I gave up before that point. All I could think with all the oddly-placed-reactionary vomiting is that “this girl has some serious gastrointestinal issues.” Not even the ‘slightly’ cool shifters could save this one. Very glad I stopped before the missile sh&ts……

it really does! like we, as readers, are smart enough to know that the characters have used the bathroom or washed themselves or eaten. we don’t need a play by play of EVERYTHING.
