June 2024 Group Read Nominations
“None of This is True” - Lisa Jewell - it’s a psychological thriller, and I’m not sure exactly how much “horror” it is, but it’s certainly horrifying.
The Devil in Silver by Victor LaValle.
What horror lover doesn't enjoy stories set in an insane asylum?

I checked it out, and this is more Crime/thriller. Try to add books in the horror category (usually marked in the tags, as well). :)

I don’t have an “add book/author” feature on my mobile app. I searched for it when I posted my suggestion. Sorry.

Apparently that is a limitation of the mobile app. We'll (try to) forgive app users who can't link. But anyone using a computer, PLEASE link to the book's page to make it easier for everyone to check out your selection.

I've had this on my shelf for a long time:
Geek Love
Also if this would fit the theme:
The Book of Accidents

Try scrolling all the way down to the bottom of the R side of the mobile app page. It should have a link down there to take you to the desktop version of the site. Failing that, just go to Google and sign into the desktop version with your same log-in info and a new world will open up to you. You can see so much more on the desktop.
And: +1 Psycho

Excellent book! It is being made into a streaming series for the next installment of The Terror. Hope they get it right.

+1 for Tender is the Flesh by Agustina Bazterrica
+1 for Psycho by Robert Bloch
On mobile, so I can’t link. But I’m just seconding other people’s nominations, so I guess it’s not that big of a deal?

No problem! And I didn't realize before that the app has a problem with linking the books. You're all good! :D

It's been tagged in the horror genre, so that's good enough for me. Sounds like a good one!

Yeah, I get frustrated when I use my phone to get on here because of that issue. It's very frustrating.
I'm nominating Slashtag by Jon Cohn
I think this is considered a psychological horror? I'm not always a fan of the subgenre. But I know this book is a great read, and I was really impressed with it.

Now we all know that Stephen King is a master at this, but we're looking for some lesser known titles. Go outside the box of King, Shirley Jackson, and other big names, and see what gems you can unearth.
As always, books that were read by the group in the past 4-5 years are NOT ELIGIBLE. PLEASE click on this link of previous reads before nominating. (There's an alphabetized list following the "dates read" one).

Authors/publishers may NOT nominate their own books.
Books with more +1, (seconds, thirds... ) will have a better chance of making the final poll.
Let's get nominating!!
