The honeymoon isn’t quite over for Samara Weaving as she contemplates returning to her breakout horror role.
The actress recently said she’s “all in” to reprise her bridal final girl Grace Le Domas for a potential sequel to her 2019 movie Ready or Not, which also helped launch Radio Silence directorial duo Tyler Gillett and Matt Bettinelli-Olpin.
“I’m all in. I think we’re all in, I don’t know. I think we’re all in,” Weaving told ComicBook.com. “I don’t know if we’ve had our blood handshake, but pretty much. We’ve done the spit handshake, but we haven’t cut each other’s hands and rubbed our blood together.”
In Ready or Not, Weaving plays newlywed bride Grace, whose eccentric new in-laws force her to partake in a deadly game of hide and seek to fulfill a supernatural family prophecy.

Fictional horror movies scare us until we leave the theater. True crime dramas follow us home because they happened once to someone—or so they say.
Heists, abuses of power, murders, and multiple murders. Hollywood loves crime and all the ill-gotten bootie it brings. From 1907’s The Unwritten Law: A Thrilling Drama Based on the Thaw-White Case to the upcoming Roofman, films inspired by true crime capture a special kind of imagination. They are cautionary tales with real-life consequences, and dramas too sordid for mixed company. In the Golden Age, stories of gangland thugs came with promises of being “ripped from today’s papers.” Every robbery is a drama. Each public scandal is a potential movie trailer. Every human tragedy is a closeup. Here are some of the best films that took their plots from schemes attempted in real life.
Zodiac (2007)
Directed by David Fincher, Zodiac is as exhilarating as it is frustrating.

Colin Hanks has joined the bone-crunching, skin-splitting cast of Nobody 2, Universal’s sequel to the 2021 surprise hit produced by 87North.
Bob Odenkirk is reprising his role as mild-mannered family man who is secretly a former government assassin, while Sharon Stone is cast as the stone-cold villainess of the piece. Connie Nielsen and Christopher Lloyd are reprising their roles of the family man’s wife and father, respectively.
Plot details are being kept secret, but sources say that Hanks will play a corrupt sheriff with none too nice ambitions.
Indonesian filmmaker Timo Tjahjanto, known for his horror and action fare such as May the Devil Take You and segments of the V/H/S installments, is directing the feature, which shoots this month. The screenplay is by Derek Kolstad, Aaron Rabin, Odenkirk and Umair Aleem.
Odenkirk is also producing the action thriller, joining Kelly McCormick and David Leitch, who are producing via their Universal-based 87North.

Spyglass Media and Paramount Pictures once intended to make a Scream 7 that would have starred Scream (2022) and Scream VI leads Melissa Barrera and Jenna Ortega, with Freaky and Happy Death Day director Christopher Landon at the helm. But then Ortega allegedly asked for a substantial pay raise – and as we saw when Neve Campbell dropped out of Scream VI due to a pay dispute, these pay issues don’t tend to work out. Then Barrera was fired from the project after comments she made about the Israel-Hamas war didn’t go over well with executives at Spyglass. Landon dropped out the of the project soon after. So Scream 7 has been re-developed, Campbell has signed on to return as franchise heroine Sidney Prescott – and while Sidney only had a supporting role in Scream (2022), Campbell has confirmed that she is the lead character in this reworked version of Scream 7.

Since the announcement of a seventh film, the Scream franchise has been the subject of much buzz (both bad and good). But this time around, we've received some news that will make many Sidney Prescott (Neve Campbell) fans very happy.
Back in August 2023, Scream VII (unofficial title) was officially announced to be in development with film director Christopher Landon set to direct. However, the filmmaking process ended up being slowed down due to the writers and actors strikes. Then, the movie hit another obstacle in production when its main star, Melissa Barrera, was fired, and another main cast member, Jenna Ortega, exited the film.
Since then, so much has happened. Guy Busick was announced to be writing the script from a story he co-wrote with James Vanderbilt, Scream creator Kevin Williamson had taken over directing duties from Landon, and scream queen Neve Campbell had rejoined the slasher franchise to reprise...

It’s been a few months since we’ve gotten an official update on Scream 7, but one thing we do know for certain is that Neve Campbell will be back as Sidney Prescott this time around.
And according to Campbell, the upcoming seventh installment will be a return to the franchise’s roots in the sense that Sidney Prescott will be the central character of the movie.
“We are going to follow Sidney,” Campbell confirms to Et Online this week.
“They did pitch the concept to me, and it’s the reason that I jumped on board,” Campbell adds. “I love these movies, they are so much fun to be a part of. I’m so grateful for them; I could never have imagined being a part of a movie that would have lasted this many decades.”

Yesterday, we learned that production has begun on an adaptation of the Stephen King novel The Long Walk (which was, like The Running Man and Thinner, published under the pen name Richard Bachman), with director Francis Lawrence, whose previous credits include Constantine, I Am Legend, Water for Elephants, The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Parts 1 and 2, Red Sparrow, Slumberland, and The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes, at the helm. Now Deadline has broken the news that the cast of the film includes Star Wars legend Mark Hamill, who just recently finished working on another King adaptation called The Life of Chuck, and Judy Greer of the Halloween and Ant-Man franchises. Details on the characters they’ll be playing have not been revealed. Having read the source material, The Major and the mom of the lead character are the first possibilities that come to my mind.

An adaptation of the Stephen King novel The Long Walk has been trudging through development hell for decades. At one point, the rights were in the hands of Frank Darabont, who made the King adaptations The Shawshank Redemption, The Green Mile, and The Mist. Then the rights passed over to New Line Cinema, where Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark director André Øvredal was hired to direct the film from a screenplay by James Vanderbilt, whose credits include the two most recent Scream movies. While doing the press rounds for his film The Last Voyage of the Demeter last year, Øvredal revealed that he was no longer involved with The Long Walk, and said not making that movie is one of the big regrets of his life. Last November, Francis Lawrence, whose previous credits include Constantine, I Am Legend, Water for Elephants, The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, The Hunger...

Guy Ritchie‘s Young Sherlock series adds more players to the television project, focusing on the early days of Arthus Conan Doyle’s legendary detective, Sherlock Holmes, with Joseph Fiennes and Natascha McElhone. The duo joins the series as Sherlock’s parents. Fiennes plays Sherlock’s father, Silas, while Elhone plays the protagonist’s mother, Cordelia. Hero Fiennes Tiffin stars as the young Sherlock Holmes.
Sherlock’s father is a scientist, explorer, and self-made businessman. His mother is an artist and the matriarch of the Holmes family unit. Ritchie’s Young Sherlock takes inspiration from Andy Lane’s novels. Prime Video’s eight-episode series follows a nineteen-year-old Sherlock, known as a disgraced, raw, unfiltered, and unformed genius. Stephen King's books that have not yet been adapted fall into three groups: "no one tried to adapt it," "someone tried but couldn't adapt it," and "someone is trying to adapt it right now."
The Long Walk is just one of those books, and it belongs to both the second and third categories. Stephen King himself considers it to be one of his best novels. The author created it as a student, but could not publish it for a long time.
What is The Long Walk About?
The characters in The Long Walk live in an alternative future America. Once upon a time there was a global catastrophe, but the author deliberately hides the details from us. It is now a police state ruled by a dictator known as the Major.
On his initiative, a survival game is held every year – 100 young men, accompanied by military personnel, set out on a certain route.

Surreal. That’s how Misan Harriman describes his first time at the Academy Awards earlier this year. Six years before, his wife had bought him a Fujifilm X100 for his 40th birthday and encouraged him to start taking pictures with it. Then there he was, surrounded by the global industry’s most overachieving, himself an Oscar-nominated director.
He had always loved film, having been raised on ’80s and ’90s cinema like The Lost Boys, Big Trouble in Little China and Stand By Me. He describes Home Alone, of all things, as “more than entertainment for troubled kids like me,” and will share his connection to the classic movie’s study of “trauma response” and the way it, and films like it, saved him. Born in Nigeria in 1977, Harriman was the only Black kid at his British boarding school. “With my kind of neurodiversity, I’m not supposed to be good at anything,...

Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer was an astounding success last year in the box office and this year during the awards season. The story was gripping, with some absolutely brilliant performances, and an equally fitting director who left no stone unturned to make a cinematic masterpiece.
Cillian Murphy in Oppenheimer
World War movies are sometimes a hit and miss, but this one completely knocked it out of the park. Oppenheimer was praised for its story, as well as execution, and has been a fan favorite for a while. And it looks like we will have another World War II drama in our hands soon.
Nuremberg Is a Oppenheimer and Man of Steel Crossover
Director James Vanderbilt is bringing the story of the Nuremberg trials to life, with a brilliant cast attached to the project. The movie is based on yet another book, this one being The Nazi and the Psychiatrist, Nuremberg by Jack El-Hai.

While in the middle of filming his latest mystery film, Fountain of Youth, Guy Ritchie is revealing another film project, Wife and Dog. In the fuselage of a C-47 transport plane, a group of high-ranking Nazis in uniforms stripped of their insignia are facing their captors. Among them, Hermann Göring strikes up a conversation with a U.S. military psychiatrist, Lt. Colonel Douglas Kelley. “Howie here tells me you do magic,” Göring says to Kelley. Kelley nods and shows him a quick coin trick. “Very good,” Göring responds. “But I am going to show you a real magic trick someday. I am going to escape the hangman’s noose.”
It is then that Robert Ley, the Nazi head of the German Labour Front, spots something out of the window. “Nürnberg,” he announces. As the rest of the group takes in the sight of the bombed city, their destination is clear. The Palace of Justice is one of the few buildings that remain standing. Their trial will soon begin.

"We do very much have the ambition about creating a bigger universe around Spider-Man." These were the words uttered by former Sony Pictures Entertainment chief Michael Lynton after an investor meeting in November 2013. Those words would become the undoing of the franchise solely under Sony's stewardship, with 2014's "The Amazing Spider-Man 2" serving as the nail in the coffin. With the benefit of hindsight, we might be looking at the most outright financially successful franchise-killer in cinema history.
The Andrew Garfield-led "Spider-Man" films remain a tragic mixed bag. There are those who adore Garfield as Marvel's famed webslinger. There are many others who can't get past the messy direction the films themselves wandered down -- particularly this sequel we're talking about today.

Post-wwii war crimes thriller Nuremberg boasts a strong leading trio and is set to seek backing at next month’s Cannes Film Festival.
While we don’t have too much on this story, there’s a report that a new project titled Nuremberg is to be revealed at next month’s Cannes Film Festival.
The film will be launching sales at Cannes to try and secure backing to give the film a green light and considering some of the acting talent signed up, we can’t imagine the producers walking away from the French film festival empty-handed.
But first, the set-up.
According to the synopsis (via Variety), ‘Nuremberg chronicles the eponymous trials held by the Allies against the defeated Nazi regime. The film will centre on American psychiatrist Douglas Kelley, who is tasked with determining whether Nazi prisoners are fit to stand trial for their war crimes, and finds himself...

A lot of Scream franchise fans were hoping Melissa Barrera would reprise the role of Samantha Carpenter from Scream (2022) and Scream VI in a third Scream movie, and it has been said that the directors of those films, Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett, wanted to return for a Scream 7 that would wrap up the Sam Carpenter story as a trilogy. But that’s not how it worked out. The directors went off to make Abigail, and Paramount Pictures and Spyglass Media weren’t willing to wait for them to circle back to Scream 7. Including the day when Barrera was fired after comments she made about the Israel-Hamas war didn’t go over well with executives at Spyglass. So there...

Update: Variety has confirmed that Courteney Cox is in talks to join Neve Campbell in Scream 7. They didn’t mention Patrick Dempsey in their report.
The original article (published March 25th) follows:
So now Scream 7 has been re-developed, and it...

Activity is heating up on the Scream front, as Courteney Cox is now in talks to return as reporter Gale Weathers, reprising the role she’s held since the first installment, sources confirmed to Deadline.
Franchise rights holder and producer Spyglass declined comment. The news comes following word that original cast member Neve Campbell will be back as final girl Sidney Prescott in the new, currently untitled film, having previously exited Scream VI amid a pay dispute.
Scream creator and scribe Kevin Williamson is on board to direct, following Christopher Landon’s exit late last year, in his first outing behind the camera for the franchise. Guy Busick, who co-wrote 2022’s Scream reboot and Scream VI, is back to pen the script — assuming the reins from his co-writer James Vanderbilt, who is at work directing the starry historical drama Nuremberg. Ghostface will return in Scream 7 for Paramount and Spyglass, and Variety reports this week that franchise mainstay Courteney Cox is in talks to return as Gale Weathers.
Cox’s Gale Weathers has been part of the franchise since the very beginning, with Cox starring in every single installment in the franchise to date. While Dewey Riley was killed off in the fifth installment, Gale just keeps on surviving, most recently beating the odds in Scream VI. How many more massacres can Gale manage to survive? Is her number finally coming up?
It was recently announced that Neve Campbell will also return in Scream 7, with Campbell herself revealing that she’ll be back as Sidney Prescott in the upcoming Spyglass sequel.
Additionally, original Scream scribe Kevin Williamson will Direct the film.
Williamson recently wrote on Instagram, “It’s been nearly 30 years since my very first script, ‘Scream,’ was directed by the legendary Wes Craven.

Wes Craven, director of the first four films in the Scream franchise, passed away in 2015. So when Paramount Pictures and Spyglass Media teamed up to revive the franchise with the new sequel that was released in 2022, the directing duo of Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett took the helm. They then returned to direct Scream VI the following year, with both of their contributions to the franchise centering on sisters Samantha and Tara Carpenter, played by Melissa Barrera and Jenna Ortega. During a new interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Bettinelli-Olpin and Gillett confirmed that they had been planning to return to direct Scream 7 and complete a Carpenter sisters trilogy… but they mistakenly thought they could fit the production of their Universal Monsters movie Abigail (formerly known as Dracula’s Daughter) in between the making of Scream VI and Scream 7. Turns out, Spyglass wanted to get moving on Scream 7 sooner than their schedules allowed,...
