Westwind Media, the Burbank-based sound design and audio postproduction company whose credits include Netflix’s “Queen Charlotte” and HBO’s “The White Lotus,” is expanding its leadership team and talent roster.
Industry vet Doug Kent has been named partner and president of the privately owned company, which was founded in 1997.
It expanded its talent roster with re-recording mixers Joe Earle and Gabriel J. Serrano, following the recent addition of Christian P. Minkler. Nicole Zabala has joined the team as VP of strategy and business development.
Kent most recently served as a senior VP at Formosa Group, following 15 years as a senior VP at Technicolor.
“This is a remarkable opportunity to shape a lasting legacy in the industry,” said Kent of his new role. “It’s also an opportunity to foster a business that reflects the expansive culture of Los Angeles, one that better represents the city I live in and grew up in.

"Gossip Girl" original Queen Bee has a new king. The show has enlisted a new cast member to play Serena van der Woodsen's newest beau.
According to eonline.com, The CW has confirmed that Armie Hammer will play European socialite Gabriel Serrano in a three episode arc toward the end of the season. Gabriel will first date Serena's friend Poppy Lifton before moving on to her.
The celebrity website also reports that the show will end in an "Anne Hathaway-inspired" plot. The storyline will be loosely inspired by the actress' failed romance with convicted embezzler Raffaello Follieri. Hammer's Gabriel may just be the Raffaello the plot needs.
Hammer recently played evangelist Billy Graham on the 2008 biopic "Billy: The Early Years." He will be seen next on the TV series "Reaper" as the Devil's son, Morgan.

First Dan Humphrey and then Aaron Rose and now, a European socialite. Serena van der Woodsen will get a taste of Armie Hammer who has been tapped to play the new love interest of the character played by Blake Lively in "Gossip Girl".
Hammer plays Gabriel Serrano, the character who has made a buzz earlier for being the kind of man that Serena has never dated before. Twist of the story, Gabriel has met Serena's friend Poppy Lifton first before moving on with her.
Writer Stephanie Savage previously described this character as "very well-traveled, part of the global elite. He's not a brooding artist like Dan or Aaron rose. He's definitely a grown-up, and that's something Serena is very attracted to."
E! reports that Hammer will join the show at the end of the season for three episodes. The show has aired 18 of the planned 25 episodes, meaning Gabriel will probably seen in a May episode.

Serena van der Woodsen (Blake Lively) is getting a new squeeze! And this one doesn't share a half sibling with her. Hurrah! Sources reveal to me exclusively that Armie Hammer—who's also set to play the Devil's son, Morgan, on Reaper—will join the cast of Gossip Girl at the end of the season to play Serena's new beau. The CW just confirmed this casting to us. Want the details on his steamy little affair with Serena? As I reported before, Gabriel Serrano is a European socialite, who is not like any man Serena has dated before. Hammer will join the cast for three episodes toward the end of the season as a part of the Anne Hathaway-esque storyline. As reported by...
