the wonders of technology
Focusing on our preoccupation with technology, 'Scribble' is a three minute film which concerns the story of a transcriptor who can't keep up with dictation, and finds she can't type with the accuracy she should. She's typing an alien language, first on a modern PC, then an old word processor, then a manual typewriter with sticky keys, then a notepad and pen, then ....
Lots of close-ups of her bespectacled eyes, the keyboards, the word count ever speeding up and up ... and lots of sci-fi references, odd happenings, and questions you're left unable to answer. Wonderful details such as the minimal soundtrack, a trickle of sweat down the transcriptor's face, and the reaction shots as odd things happen to the apparatus, keep you engaged.
