About the Author
J. Kenneth Kuntz, Professor Emeritus at the University of Iowa, received his education at Grinnell College, Yale Divinity School, and Union Theological Seminary (NYC). He taught in the Department of Biblical History at Wellesley College (1963-1967) before joining the faculty of the Department of show more Religious Studies at The University of Iowa. After 39 years of service teaching numerous courses in the Hebrew Bible/Old Testament, he formally retired in 2006. He continues to teach on-line courses in the university's Guided Independent Study program. The author of The Self-Revelation of God, a volume focused on biblical theophanies, Kuntz has written many journal articles and book chapters, mainly in the area of Psalms and biblical wisdom literature. He remains active in the Society of Biblical Literature and served for six years as chair of its Biblical Hebrew Poetry section. He took part in the Tell Gezer excavations in Israel years ago and has taken one sabbatical in Heidelberg, Germany, and three in Cambridge, England.
