Here's how you can showcase your value and contributions to propel your career forward.
Something to think about is, what is unique about you that sets you apart from others? This matters. There is no one else like you in the marketplace. What is your value statement? For example, imagine that your purpose is to enable the future by designing and developing financial systems training that upskills staff. Your value statement would be that you propel staff forward through training and make them future ready. Each person has unique attributes, characteristics and talents. Coming up with the value statement and then providing specific examples will always distinguish you from others and solidify who you are to a potential employer.

What do you do if your enthusiasm for digital learning isn't coming across in interviews?
If you feel you are not coming across as a dynamic speaker, one thing I've found helpful is to prepare a few talking points ahead of the interview. Draft them first in a free flowing, conversational format. Spend time engaging with the talking points to authentically describe your experience. Then refine the talking points with precise and specific language that reflects enthusiasm and expertise. Read the talking points out loud several times. This is a simple exercise that works every time and prepares you to sound natural and confident about technology, digital learning or in fact, any topic.

How can you improve your resume for a Digital Learning career?
One thing that is often overlooked in the quest for the perfect resume format is to tell a comprehensive story and to create a cohesive career narrative. Clearly demonstrate a career trajectory of increased titles, responsibilities, and leadership. For example, having started as an intern in a PR Firm, then becoming an assistant, then associate, on up to a lead position or manager. Use keywords to demonstrate how you added value. Perhaps you developed a spreadsheet to track clients and projects, then as an associate you created graphic assets that landed a $2M client, and so on. Many of us have careers that are not linear or in one field. The same applies! Tell a story of transferable skills to demonstrate value, leadership and growth.

How can you effectively communicate curriculum changes to stakeholders?
Before getting started, approach this from both the human and management perspective. Take the time to get to know the stakeholder team. This is setting up the beginning of the relationship, the mid-term curriculum management, and end product for success. Then provide all the channels of communication and feedback that are available to the stakeholders. This may include feedback mechanisms that are included in various instructional design tools/platforms or document track changes or traditional email. Crowdsource and brainstorm other ideas as well, from the stakeholders. Determine what is the method they prefer in order to provide feedback. This establishes that the curriculum development is a collaborative process and sets the tone.
