Space Marine 2 is the ultimate Warhammer 40K experience. It perfectly captures the essence of 40K and transfers it into the action-adventure format. Its three game modes offer countless hours of gameplay and tons of customization options to look forward to. For Warhammer fans, this game is a must-play, and a perfect entry point for those uninitiated into the lore of 40K.
Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 is one of the best action games of 2024: It crashes, it bangs and it looks fantastic too. The overall package of story campaign, PvE mode and PvP is also a content-rich board.
The Emperor truly provided with this one. Fantastic game that makes you feel like the ultimate badass. No microtransactions or other **** we’ve sadly become accustomed to in modern gaming. Truly feels like it’s captured the essence of what it felt like to play games from like 2004-2015 where you can just jump in and have a great time then log off. Can’t wait to see where else they go with this as the roadmap promises some pretty exciting stuff.
FOR THE EMPEROR!
Sublime, por fin una vuelta a los juegos realmente divertidos de antes, sin que te quieran meter ideologías, sin tonterias. Acción pura y dura fiel al lore.
The most striking achievement of Space Marines 2 is the way the game presents the remarkable atmosphere of Warhammer 40,000 universe. Epic battles, insane architecture and oppressing tone, this game has it all.
Space Marine 2 is a solid successor to Space Marine, fits well into the Warhammer universe, and offers engaging and fun action combat and shooting mechanics. It is slight marred by a limited map pool creating repetitiveness in the game's multiplayer progression-based features.
FOR THE EMPRAH. no seriously, this is the best representation of a space marine in any game to date, extremely dangerous but not invulnerable in any way. amazing work saber.
Not worth all the praise at all, generic conversations, generic shooting, dumb Ally AI.
Main character hair is literally PS2 quality.
Short campaign, less fun weapons and enemies than the first game..
Loading screens in 2024 ?? wonky melee combat..
No diversity people say? every marine group is a black, asian and white man lol.
fun if u want mindless action with cool takedowns and pretty zones.
I played first one right before this and impressed me more, with the orc facial expressions as u teared them up, the airplane battle in the sky scene & the train scene. there are no epic moments like that in here.
+ Gameplay is great
+ Art is great
+ Campaign is great
+ Grimdark is great
- Loading times are ATROCIOUS
- Matchmaking is very broken
- Limited PvE Operations
- PvP is basic and incomplete
The game's solo campaign is just a short 9-10 hour game mechanics tutorial for the "endgame" (if you can call it that) pve and pvp, and has a completely forgettable and very generic, predictable story. I've recommended to my friends that they only get the game when they can get it at 50% off. The game overall is VERY overrated and gets repetitive extremely fast.
At the time writing this review, the game has horrible server issues. Disconnects and such, match making not working etc etc... This has been the case since the launch.
I genuinely struggle to give this game any credit beyond having well fleshed out the aesthetics of the TTG. The controls are bass-ackwards, the gameplay is repetitive, and pretty much the only difficulty (in PvE) is found in the moments you are stunlocked for the entirety of your health pool.
I know it's the current hotness, and boy did I try to like it. However, my immediate frustration with poor controls then gave way to frustration for those odd stunlocks, which, within a couple of hours, gave way to boredom. Most guns feel very samey, most fights feel similarly stale, and frankly, beyond the graphical fidelity, it is *very* difficult to see where the $70 AAA pricetag is justified when contemporary games like Deep Rock and Helldivers have so much more to offer with considerably lower initial investment.
Even my adoration for the games stylings and yesteryear action movie antics can't save this from being an expensive uninstall and a lamentation for yet another game that was dwarfed by its own hype.
