A GOSHAWK, MUGHAL INDIA, 18TH CENTURY, BORDERS BY DAULAT, 17TH CENTURY. Opaque pigments and gold on paper, within cream album leaf painted with flowers. Provenance: The Rothschild collection, Paris. Confiscated during the Nazi occupation of Paris by the Einsatzstab Reichsleiter Rosenberg after May 1940; transferred to the Jeu de Paume (ERR no. R 424), then to the Nazi depot at Neuschwanstein, shipped to Schloss Kogl, Austria. Repatriated to France, 23 Oct 1945. Later in the Sarikhani Collection.
