Leah Turk | Pediatric PT on Instagram: "🏋️‍♀️ if your baby is getting close to taking their first steps, consider working on squatting!  🏋️‍♀️Squatting not only helps build strength and balance, but it’s an important component of getting up from the floor… which your baby will need to know in order to get up and keep walking if (read *when* 😅) they fall.  👉Essentially to engage your baby in play that encourages squatting, you need to place toys HIGH and LOW to encourage them to move up and down from a squat.  👉You can hold toys up from the floor at first to decrease the distance they have to squat (like how I’m demonstrating in the first set of clips with the spinning toy) or place toys directly on the floor for more challenge.   👉Also, using a larger toy (like the little people hous Montessori, Walking Activities For Babies, Standing Activities For Babies, Getting Up From The Floor, Baby Standing, Pediatric Pt, Baby's First Step, Recreation Therapy, Baby Walking
