What breaks can also be mended. The heart is a highly intelligent organ, but sometimes it needs our gentle lovingkindness to heal. A tender yet mighty thing, both energetically and physiologically, the heart is wired to love as much as it is capable of holding space for our pain. When we talk about “opening” the heart, we must remember that in doing so, we’re intentionally making ourselves vulnerable, inviting both the consequences and rewards of our actions.
