Culture Jamming

This is an example of cultural jamming. The designer of this ad used the Nike logo and symbol "Just Do It" with the backdrop of a child laborer. This ad is making a commentary on how many companies such as Nike use underpaid foreign laborers and children to make their products.

The overall idea of culture jamming is to bring to light the larger picture of what a company stands for and how it truly harms the people. This image shows multiple ads with the same overall idea that we work, buy, consume, and die. What do these companies really think of their consumers, we are tools to them, aren't we? Culture jamming is a way to show how we are viewed and make us look at it from a new angle, many times the true one.
