On the site of a former hat factory, Woods Bagot has transformed four neglected industrial buildings into a sustainable, integrated, flexible campus-style workplace. Our approach in the factory's adaptive reuse was to touch the heritage fabric lightly—to keep what could be kept and to add as little as possible.

As a counterpoint to the conventional corporate fitout, Woods Bagot designs a narrative-driven workspace featuring layered design techniques, expressive gestures and textural surfaces in a poetic response to BHP’s physical land assets.

405 Bourke Street sees Woods Bagot carves a new commercial home for NAB and layers a series of ‘third spaces’ for people to meet, do business and find respite from the hustle and bustle of the city.

Curved shapes have always sparked architects' fascination for evoking nature's beauty, fluidity, dynamism, and complexity. To replicate these shapes, however, is no easy task. From their two- or three-dimensional representation to their execution in their final materials, this represents an enormous difficulty, which requires technical expertise and a great amount of knowledge to achieve strong results.

A multi-functional sales center that can be easily adapted for future use
