Learn How To Weave | Lindsey Campbell on Instagram: "Using a darning loom is so fun! I shared a project with this loom earlier and had lots of questions to show how to use it. Today I sewed a patch on some pants that had a hole in the pocket! What do you think?

I’m so excited to share more about this technique at @thecraftersbox retreat in May! I taught basket weaving at the retreat last year and am looking forward to heading bach. I’ll be teaching a workshop all about darning looms and will share different patterns/projects you can try when making patches. We’ll be decorating bags with as many patches as we can add, with a view of the ocean, surrounded by creative makers. Can’t wait!" Learn How To Weave | Lindsey Campbell on Instagram: "Swipe through for the process! Be right back - I'm just raiding my closet to patch up any holes, tears or stains I can find! I have been having so much fun with my darning loom lately. It is the perfect size for a quick weaving snack when I only have a few minutes of time to be creative. This hat had stains on the front and even though it didn't have any holes, I thought a colorful patch would be a cute way to wear my love for weaving. 1. Gather your materials. I used embroidery floss but you could also use a thin string or yarn. 2. Attach the darning loom to the area you want to weave. Cut the floss and warp it between the hooks and the fabric. 3. Move the metal heddles at the top to help you quickly weave back and forth. The Speedweve was made in Manchester, hence the name 'Lancashire's Smallest Loom.' I am not sure when this one was made, but judging by the price tag on the box it is quite old. The North of England was well known for its production of cotton cloth. My grandparents and great-grandparents worked as weavers in Burnley, which during the Industrial Revolution became one of Lancashire's prominent mill towns. I don't recall my Grandma ever using the Speedweve but I am sure there are a few folk out…
