A search operation continued on Saturday morning, September 21, following reports that a person entered the water close to Menai Suspension Bridge on Friday, September 20. Shortly before 9:45am on Friday, it was reported that an individual had entered the water.

Emergency teams from the RNLI, North Wales Police, North Wales Fire and Rescue Service, the Coastguard, and the Aeronautical Rescue Co-Ordination Centre rushed to comb the Menai Strait. Despite their exhaustive efforts, emergency services were unable to locate the individual, and the search was suspended last night.

On Saturday morning, a spokesperson for the Coastguard confirmed the resumption of the search. Teams are presently conducting a shoreline search of both sides of the Menai Strait during the low tide period, which was around 8am on Saturday. North Wales Police are reaching out to anyone who drove over the Menai Bridge between 9:20 am and 9:45 am on Friday and may have observed someone walking nearby, or who might possess relevant dashcam footage, urging them to get in touch, , reports North Wales Live.

In a statement issued by Anglesey's North Wales Police officers on Friday, they said: "We would appeal for anyone travelling along Menai Bridge between 9.20am and 9.45am this morning and [who] saw anyone walking in the area, or may have dashcam footage, to contact us quoting reference Q142472."
