It's good to see this page appearing, and the info about its inspiration.

Not too sure about FB "going back to his roots with the use of his Pixies stagename". There's no release date yet, or in fact, any real confirmation that he'll be releasing the project under the name Black Francis, aside from the cryptic forum posts.

He's touring this summer, billed as Frank Black, as normal.

Might not be the best source, but ther was a review in rolling stone of bluefinger. it said it was a black francis album, and sounded more like pixies than his other solo stuff. something in google news about kim deal being involved, but not dave or j--59.101.214.205 08:18, 19 September 2007 (UTC)oey[reply]

Yeah, but ...

[edit]

It's hard to say, because Frank Black/Black Francis is so cryptic and hasn't said anything official yet, but I believe this to be a Black Francis album because that's what he suggested it was. The information in this wiki is taken mostly from his comments on his fansite's discussion board -- i.e., the tracklisting. Taking that cue, the wiki should say it's a Black Francis album (but it should also point out that there's a question about that). The argument that he's touring under the name Frank Black doesn't hold much water, because he's also touring as Black Francis with his band the Pixies right now. He has several projects going, and it seems this one is labeled "Black Francis." —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 75.71.139.173 (talk) 12:49, 29 March 2007 (UTC).[reply]

The way I look at it is, anything other than the tracklisting and the music (which corroborate one another) is pretty much speculation at this point; nothing is firmed up on this album in terms of release. Frank's comment seems pretty offhand to me and it's not something I would assume is gospel, but that's just me. No harm is done by having it as a "Frank Black" entry until such time as any sort of real confirmation comes along on the "Black Francis" thing, and the article already makes reference to the 'speculation' on whether it will be released under that name, so readers aren't being denied that information. But, if others feel strongly about changing it back to "Black Francis", I won't argue. Anazgnos 14:39, 29 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Assuming for the moment that "Black Francis" will be the moniker used, does anyone have an idea as to why? The only time he's used it before was in association with Pixies songs, right? 71.131.216.230 22:42, 1 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I heard the single Threshold Apprehension on the radio (by Black Francis). It sounds much more like the Pixies than most Frank Black solo material to me as a longtime fan. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.245.90.87 (talk) 16:23, August 28, 2007 (UTC)
