Not an expert

[edit]

I'm not an expert on breweries and have only really created this article so that I can link to it from the Simonds' Brewery in Reading, Berkshire. During my research, I found the relationship between Scottish Courage and Scottish & Newcastle very confusing because S&N barely seem to use the 'Scottish Courage' name. I therefore chose to call the article simply Courage with a qualifier. I hope everyone else agrees. Verica Atrebatum 16:44, 25 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Closure of London brewery in 1981

[edit]

I think this section (which follows the article on www.breweryhistory.com) needs slightly amending. Worton Grange was a keg only plant so while the keg beers and lager that were made at Horsleydown will have transferred there, the real ales (Courage Best Bitter and Directors) did not- instead, pubs were supplied by increased production of these beers from the Bristol plant. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 1952rwc (talkcontribs) 09:53, 11 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Takeovers

[edit]

I would like to see the article include a brief reference to another brewery Courage took over in 1963- Beasley's of Plumstead, south east London.

The company had many pubs in Woolwich, Plumstead and the surrounding areas. There is an oblique reference to the brewery in the article about the anthropologist Harry Geoffrey Beasley:
