Es la chica más popular del instituto de Lizzie. Durante su infancia fue una de las mejores amigas de Lizzie y Miranda, pero al apuntarse a un campamento de verano, conoció a nueva gente y, se convirtió en una chica muy popular, por lo que comenzó a pasar de Lizzie, convirtiéndose en su rival. Repetió un año en preescolar. En The Lizzie McGuire Movie, Kate se convierte nuevamente en amiga de Lizzie.
