Kamino is a stormy ocean wide planet where the clone army is made for the Galactic Republic. It is also home of the Kaminoan race. The planet has no land and was just water as Kaminoans build their homes above water and rained there all the time. Kamino was the producer of the clone army for the Galactic Republic.

Description[]
Kamino was a remote water planet outside the main galaxy with its oceans holding an abundance of life. Kamino was renowned for its scientists and cloning technology where the Kaminoan species often contracted with private security forces and other clients. Receiving minimal trade, Kamino's imports were only enough to support the planet's population of one billion. There were many cities scattered across the surface that were built on stilts due to Kamino being covered in a great big ocean after the planet's water levels rose to higher peaks.
Kamino often experienced heavy rain and during some parts of the year was covered with heavy electrical storms. During this season, Kaminoans rode on aiwhas underwater and resurfaced once they were near their destination. The Kamioans were also isolationists, preferring to avoid interacting with other species and keep to themselves.
History[]
Years before the Clone Wars, Jedi Master Sifo-Dyas commissioned the Kaminoan species to create a clone army for the Galactic Republic, in response to a Force vision that saw the galaxy descending into a Galactic conflict. However, the Sith secretly took over the project where Sith apprentice, Count Dooku arranged Sifo-Dyas to be killed at the hands of the Pyke Syndicate. Dooku then selected bounty hunter Jango Fett to serve as the genetic template of the clone army. The Kaminoans modified the clones to have growth acceleration and complete obedience so they could become capable soldiers for the Republic. As payment for his services, Fett was given a young clone with no growth acceleration, at his request, and named him Boba, raising him as his own son.
During the Separatist Crisis, before the start of the Clone Wars, Fett was hired by Dooku to assassinate Senator Padmé Amidala as part of an agreement he made with the Viceroy of the Trade Federation, Nute Gunray in exchange for the viceroy himself to join the Confederacy of Independent Systems. Fett, along with his partner Zam Wesell failed to assassinate the senator and after their second attempt, he killed with Wesell with a Kaminoan toxic saberdart to prevent her from revealing any information. Jedi Knight Obi-Wan Kenobi recovered the dart and brought it to his friend, Dexter Jettser who informed him the dart originated from Kamino and told him the planet's inhabitants were competent cloners who kept to themselves. Kenobi tried to search for the planet through the archives at the Jedi Temple on Coruscant, but discovered all records of the planet had been removed (secretly done by Dooku), prompting him and Master Yoda to locate the planet through other means. After finding a way to reach Kamino, Kenobi traveled to the planet, where he discovered the production of the clone army supposedly commissioned by the Jedi Order, on behalf of Jedi Master Sifo-Dyas before his death.
Following the outbreak of the Clone Wars, Kamino was one of the main operational areas of the Galactic Republic. It served as the main training grounds for clone cadets as well as the location for the clone army's creation while the planet was protected by a Republic blockade. General Grievous sent a strike team of commando droids to take out Rishi Station, a Republic outpost that could warn Kamino of an impending attack. The base was taken over by the droids, but as Grievous's fleet arrived in the system before attacking Kamino, clone trooper CT-782 "Hevy" sacrificed himself to alert Republic forces of the enemy fleet, causing the Separatists to retreat and call off their attack.
Later, a Separatist assault, led by Asajj Ventress and General Grievous, finally made its way to Kamino in an attempt to end clone creation for the Republic. Jedi Generals Anakin Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi with the 501st Legion and the 212th Attack Battalion were sent to assist in the planet's defense alongside Jedi General Shaak Ti. The Separatists nearly stole a prime sample of clone trooper, but was thwarted by Skywalker and the clone troopers, leaving the Separatists defeated and the planet's cloning operation safe.
Notable Locations[]
- Tipoca City: The capital city of Kamino and the site of the cloning facility. It was also the home of Jango Fett, and his cloned son, Boba Fett.
