Clarifications and Request for Further Information Regarding Feedback on the Article

Article Draft:Thierry Rayer

Dear Moderators,

I am writing to seek your assistance regarding the feedback you provided on the article in question. First, I would like to thank you for your comments and for the work you do to maintain the platform’s quality standards.

However, I am somewhat surprised by some of your remarks, particularly those indicating that certain phrases appear too promotional. Our intention is simply to faithfully transcribe information from media outlets and official sources, such as ministries or museums. I would therefore like to raise a few points to clarify the situation.

Firstly, could you please identify the specific phrases or information that you find promotional? This would help us make the necessary adjustments while remaining faithful to the sources we have carefully selected. It is crucial not to alter the content of information from official or journalistic sources, as this might compromise its accuracy.

Secondly, I would like to emphasize that all references cited in the article come from reliable, recognized, and verifiable sources. The excerpts written are directly based on these sources to ensure accuracy and compliance. It would be helpful if you could review these references in detail, as they form the foundation of the article and ensure the reliability of the presented information.

I therefore wonder how these sources are being taken into account during the evaluation process. Have you had the opportunity to review them thoroughly? By doing so, you will see that the article is solely based on factual and verified information, drawn from credible and objective publications.

Our goal is to contribute in a neutral, objective, and well-documented manner. We would be very grateful if you could guide us on the necessary adjustments to meet your expectations while maintaining the integrity of the sources.

Thank you for your attention, and I remain at your disposal for any further clarification.

Sincerely, Inspiringflow (talk) 12:15, 8 September 2024 (UTC)Reply

I saw that you had tagged the blocking redirect for deletion. So I moved the blocking redirect out of the way and accepted the article. Please check to see if anything else is needed. Robert McClenon (talk) 04:29, 13 September 2024 (UTC)Reply

Thank you for the review

The info in the first two paragraphs come from citations listed - some of which are in the language Malayalam, spoken by around 40 million folks. I could not find any more citations

The third para I got from two sources 1.  by interviewing a couple of old people ( in 2020 &23 when I visited India)  who had the info passed on to them thru generations.  They have since passed away.  Also, 2. By visiting the temple mentioned in the paragraph.

Even though the subject of the article changed the course of history for 40 million Malayalis,  I plan to delete this draft - it is a losing battle. let someone else do it.  Kindly advise how I may delete it.

Thank again for reviewing this anyway. Sankarnair2 (talk) 21:24, 13 September 2024 (UTC)Reply

Re: 1936 NIO

edit

Good job so far on that! IBTRACS has a bunch of storms from 1936, so be sure to add those too. Also, you might want to try finding newspaper sources. Have you ever heard of the Wikipedia Library, where users can get access to newspaper archives? ♫ Hurricanehink (talk) 19:36, 14 September 2024 (UTC)Reply

For your first opinion, that's what I'm currently doing. And for your second, I've not been here for six months, meaning I can't access it. OhHaiMark (talk) 19:38, 14 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
Ah ok. Well, you're doing a great service going through the IMD reports. There could probably be an article for every NIO season going back to 1900. It's just going to take people some time researching everything. So kudos to that. Especially finding that deadly Myanmar storm. ♫ Hurricanehink (talk) 19:54, 14 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
Actually, while l was looking at the IMD, they stated that there were reports as far back as the 1860s, and the WikiProject Tropical Cyclones have reports going back to 1891. OhHaiMark (talk) 19:59, 14 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
Yea, it could probably go back before 1900, given how many deadly storms there are each year in the basin. I was looking into the 1936 storms. This source has a bit of info on some older storms, for example that Myanmar cyclone in April produced a storm surge of 5 meters. It also has info on an October storm in India. You'll be surprised what you find just by a good Google with some specific search results. You're definitely on the right track for the article. Just try getting a bit of info for every storm before publishing. ♫ Hurricanehink (talk) 21:55, 14 September 2024 (UTC)Reply

Asking Question

You fellow rejected my draft Draft: Mandya railway station. I had copied and pasted from the another article Shrirangapattana railway station, why you didn't any action on that article till date or that article invisible to you? Lakyanaik Lambani (talk) 09:37, 18 September 2024 (UTC)Reply

Sialia

edit

I'm wondering whether the village actually is the primary topic for Sialia, or whether the draft should be moved to Sialia (village). What made you choose the village as the ptopic? Cheers, Cremastra (talk) 20:11, 18 September 2024 (UTC)Reply

Seeing as there's already a DAB on the top of the draft, I determined that the draft could be accepted like that. Additionally, most sources which refer to the bluebird refer to it as Sialia sialus, so I didn't think it needed to stay like that. OhHaiMark (talk) 20:45, 18 September 2024 (UTC)Reply

Request on 00:30:12, 19 September 2024 for assistance on AfC submission by FinnWilson

edit

Hi! Could you further clarify in what way the page for Common Core Ontologies doesn't meet Wikipedia's minimum standard for inline citations? Is it that there aren't enough citations? It seemed like a high density of citations to me, but I could be wrong.
