Team Fortress 2

[edit]

Popular domain for sites relating to TF2. Is this worth a mention? 86.30.244.101 (talk) 12:30, 19 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Evidently not, according to a recent editor. They want a citation that sites like backpack.tf, scrap.tf, and marketplace.tf exist and are used for virtual transactions related to Team Fortress 2. I don't know of any "reputable source" that would waste time writing an article about that, since it's an axiom among players of the game. Dogman15 (talk) 08:37, 19 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
A citation that establishes weight is what is required. There are probably thousands of websites that use this domain, a secondary source would explain why this video game is more special than other uses of the domain. Traumnovelle (talk) 08:57, 19 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Find me a ".tf" site that isn't related to the Team Fortress franchise. I'm guessing that sites related to Terres australes et antarctiques françaises are in the minority. But maybe I'm wrong! Dogman15 (talk) 23:31, 20 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I guess we need a "respected journalist" at a "reputable news organization" to write a "reliable" article that researches how prevalent Team Fortress-related use of the .tf domain name is, or what the "actual use" of it is, for the purposes of the article's infobox. Dogman15 (talk) 11:19, 21 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
You need a reliable source to establish due weight. Traumnovelle (talk) 18:54, 21 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
And neither one of us cares enough, so that's not going to happen. Dogman15 (talk) 05:39, 23 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
