Fei Yi is a character in the 14th-century Chinese classic novel Romance of the Three Kingdoms by the late Luo Guanzhong, and its multiple adaptations. He is a Shu official who wants to becomes one of the Four Ministers.

History[]

Upon his father's death, Fei Yi was a young man who will raising by his uncle, Fei Boren. To living in Jing Province, he often to taking his job, in a less of the determination, which that Fei Boren was only to gets inviting by his cousin, Liu Zhang. As the way, they are makes allies each other. After his uncle agreed to joined with Liu Zhang, Fei Yi then becomes a traveled scholar, accompanying to him arriving in Yi Province. Ultimately, Liu Bei seizing Yi Province from Liu Zhang, he becomes a new governor and preparing to founding the future kingdom of Shu. Staying in Yizhou, Fei Yi wants to becomes as famous as the two ministers, Dong Yun and Xu Shulong.

He serving Liu Bei upon the defeat of Liu Zhang, which his relative, Fei Guan, was surrendering and also served him. Upon the foundation of Shu, Liu Bei becomes a emperor which makes his son, Liu Shan, as the crown prince, Fei Yi and Dong Yun are being anointing heir illustrious's attendants. Later in the year, Liu Bei died of illness, Liu Shan will succeeded his father as the ruler of Shu. Fei Yi also service of him and following Zhuge Liang's campaigns. He was shock to realizing Zhuge Liang and his forces fights the Nanman tribe, which will traveling tens of li, out of the capital, Chengdu, and welcomes him back together with his associates.

However, Fei Yi was surprised by Zhuge Liang as he chosen to rides his carriage, returning to Chengdu. After Shu rebuild an alliance with Wu, which have joined against their rival state, Wei, Fei Yi is worthy about for this, as he serving as an ambassador of Shu. By the task of Wu, Sun Quan and his officers meet Fei Yi, managing to mocking him, and they share a boozes. During Zhuge Liang's northern expeditions, Fei Yi is really to serving as military adviser, and by Wei Yan, a general of Shu who causing his combat towards Yang Yi. On the Battle of Wuzhang Plains, Fei Yi help Jiang Wei and his forces to repelling Sima Yi and the numerous enemies of Wei.

In which Wei Yan, who coming in the wars, but he violently to clash with Yang Yi. As Zhuge Liang succumbed of his sick, Fei Yi noticed that Wei Yan will rebel. He also working with Yang Yi to executing him because Sima Yi was escaped. Upon the death of Zhuge Liang, Jiang Wan is having time to succeeded him, which Fei Yi becomes his helper, and the future successor. He could be fine to performing his duty and outstanding the expertise games with Go, due to his humor nature. As a result, Fei Yi not disregard his obligation and job. When Wei minister, Cao Shuang, trying to leading his forces to attacked Shu in Mount Xingshi. Fei Yi later joined the Shu forces to finishing them off.

As Jiang Wan, who would suffering from illness as he took on the rest for does his positions and the plans did not achieves, upon his life was ended. After Jiang Wan dies, Fei Yi succeeding him and following Jiang Wei's northern campaigns. He moving to Hanzhong from Chengdu, keeps his military matters to helps Jiang Wei harassing Wei's borders, making the surrenders of Guo Xun. Accidentally in the meaning, Fei Yi celebration of Chinese New Year and joined the banquet with all the people, which he eventually to be assassinated by Guo Xun.
