Astuto is a female fox.

Biography[]

Early life[]

Astuto lived at the Tree of Life. She took a mate, with whom she had three cubs.[1]

Poa the Destroyer[]

When Beshte went to check on the residents of the Tree of Life, Astuto spotted his approach and recognized him as the rumored menace "Poa." She hid and witnessed Beshte accidentally running over and destroying her den. Pinguino reported this incident to Baliyo and Rani. Later, when Beshte attempted to befriend Astuto, she fled from him. However, after Beshte's name was cleared by Pinguino, Astuto cheered him on with the other animals at the Tree of Life.[2]

Janna's death[]

Astuto gathered with other animals outside the Tree of Life as its queen, Janna, lay dying. When her death was announced, Astuto reacted with sadness. Later, she attended the coronation of Janna's granddaughter, Rani.[3]

Battle for the Tree of Life[]

Astuto was attacked by Makucha's army at the Tree of Life. However, the Lion Guard and the Night Pride saved her and the other animals.[4]

Cubs in peril[]

A tree fell on top of Astuto's den, blocking it up and trapping one of her cubs inside. Astuto watched anxiously as Kion and Rani removed the tree from her den and rescued the cub. Once all three of her cubs were safe, Astuto nuzzled them.[1]

Physical appearance[]

Astuto is a slender fox with blue fur. Her chest and muzzle are bluish-white, while her paws and tail tip are navy blue. Her ears are several shades; the outer rims are reddish-brown, the middle section is bluish-white, and the innermost area is dark brown. She has brown eyes.[2]

Personality and traits[]

Astuto is shy and skittish, and tends to act fearfully when faced with a powerful opponent.[2] Despite this, she is quite maternal toward and protective of her cubs.[1]

Trivia[]

  • Astuto's name means "shrewd, cunning" in Spanish.[6]
