Gold Bars are a type of valuable item in both the Luigi's Mansion series and Paper Mario series. They first appear in Luigi's Mansion for Nintendo GameCube.

Gold Bars are mostly found in Treasure Chests, although they can sometimes also be found within certain furniture. Gold Bars are worth 100,000G apiece. Gold Bars are one of three items on the Game Boy Horror HUD during active gameplay that shows how many Luigi has collected, with the other two being coins and bills.

Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon[]

Gold Bars were made significantly more common, with even basic enemies dropping them. To compensate, the value of Gold Bars were severely lowered to 20G apiece.

Luigi's Mansion 3[]

Gold Bars are common like in Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon, but are only rewarded from defeating Gold Goobs.

In Paper Mario series[]

Mario can buy Gold Bars from Deepdown Depot for 110 coins or obtain them as prizes. Mario can sell Gold Bars back to Deepdown Depot for 100 coins apiece. There is also a similar item named the Gold Bar x3, which is obtained from buying at least 300 items in a shop.

Super Paper Mario[]
