Luigi's Mansion

The Training Room is a location in Luigi's Mansion and its Nintendo 3DS version.

Description[]

The Training Room is located right next to The Lab. In this room, Professor E. Gadd gives Luigi basic training on how to fight ghosts using the Poltergust 3000. The only ghosts fought here are Gold Ghosts, either a total of ten or eleven, and they are generated from various panels on the ground. Unlike in other areas, the Gold Ghosts here do not try to attack Luigi.

In Luigi's Mansion[]

Luigi is only required to do the Training Room once, shortly after he and E. Gadd meet in the Parlor. Whenever Luigi is in The Lab itself, E. Gadd presents the Training Room as one of the menu options as to where Luigi can go to. Similarly to The Lab, dialogue from E. Gadd is present throughout the time Luigi is in the Training Room.

Each time, just before the Training Room, a controller setting screen depicting a Nintendo GameCube Controller and a Blue Twirler is shown.

While in the Training Room, each time Luigi captures at least one Gold Ghost into the Poltergust 3000, E. Gadd briefly says something to him. After a few times, E. Gadd concludes the training session, the lights turn on in the Training Room, and E. Gadd congratulates Luigi as fireworks are briefly shown for cosmetic effect. E. Gadd's comment to Luigi differs depending on how many Gold Ghosts he captured.

The Nintendo 3DS version slightly adjusts the layout of the Training Room. Gold Ghosts now emerge from the portals in an orb-like shape resembling the Gold Ghost with a key in the Foyer.

Trivia[]

  • E. Gadd's Lab has a door to the Training Room, which is labeled as such, that goes normally unseen in the Nintendo GameCube version. In the Nintendo 3DS remake, the door can be seen, as the game displays different angles of The Lab. The Game Boy Horror even shows that the Training Room is next to The Lab.
