Nibbles are Chain Chomp-like fish which appear in Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door. They try to attack Mario, although he cannot engage them in combat. Nibbles appear only in water areas, including rivers, ponds, the ocean, and even swimming pools.

Whenever Mario falls into the water, a Nibbles attacks him, dealing one HP of damage. Like most overworld obstacles that deal damage, Mario can be defeated by a Nibbles. If Mario is in his sailboat form, Nibbles do not try to attack him.
