Mario Party

Sweet Sleuth is a 4-player and Duel Minigame which appears in Mario Party DS.

Layout[]

As seen on the top screen, the minigame appears to take place within a candy shop. There are two gumball machines on the left side and a counter on the right side consisting of a few plastic containers with candy. A red Shy Guy is also shown on the top screen, facing the screen and standing from behind an orange counter where he is given the candies.

The bottom screen shows an assortment of candy on a plate. Some of the candies are designed to resemble each other, with the only difference being their shape or the pattern on its wrapper.

Gameplay[]

The objective for each player is to give Shy Guy the most correct candy within the 30-second time limit. Each speech bubble from Shy Guy displays a specific piece of candy that he wants. From the Touch Screen, the player must drag the appropriate candy from a plate to the top of the screen for their character to give it to Shy Guy. Whenever a character gives the correct candy to Shy Guy, they earn a point. If a character chooses the wrong one, the Shy Guy does not want it, and the character has to try again. Throughout the minigame, the Shy Guy repeatedly asks for more candy, and therefore more candy gets poured onto the plate as his requests are being fulfilled. By the end of the minigame, whoever has given Shy Guy the most correct candy is the winner.

Controls[]

  • Stylus: Touch and hold to drag a candy, then release for the character to take it to the Shy Guy on the top screen.

Trivia[]

  • The minigame's name is a pun on "sweet tooth," which is what someone fond of sweets is said to have.
