Synopsis for "X of Swords: Chapter 15"
In a small encampment in Avalon, Jubilee and Shogo are asleep. Jubilee is contacted by Captain Britain, who tells her there's going to be a duel, and warns her to stay away from the Starlight Citadel. Their chat is interrupted, as Isca the Unbeaten, who Elizabeth is to duel, enters her tent. She tells her that it's not too late for her to forfeit and save herself from certain death, warning her that her moniker of "unbeaten" isn't just a name. Elizabeth asks her if her sword is called Mercy, whereupon Isca tells her not to get excited, as that is just a name.
The two enter the dueling field, introduced by the first event's host, Elizabeth's brother King Jamie. The two start fighting, cheered on by their respective sides. After a short back-and-forth, Isca strikes Elizabeth's sword and shatters it, causing Elizabeth herself to shatter into pieces. Isca has won the duel and Arakko receives a point as Saturnyne arrives. Brian accuses her of rigging the contest, but he is restrained by his teammates. Saturnyne tells them to prepare for the next challenge, a party, as her servants escort away Cypher and Bei the Bloodmoon. As the two are taken away, Cypher is fascinated by the fact that despite his powers to understand any language, he cannot understand what Bei is saying.
Back at the Starlight Citadel, a confused Cypher is being dressed up in ceremonial robes, when Magik enters. While she doesn't know what's going on either, she comforts him, telling him the next event looks more like another party than a duel. As Cypher enters, he realizes that the next challenge is a wedding ceremony between him and Bei, officiated by Saturnyne. The two exchange vows and kiss, just as Jubilee and Shogo arrive and attack the Citadel. Having become worried after she lost contact with Elizabeth, Jubilee has come to burn the citadel down. Storm attempts to stop her, as Saturnyne defuses the situation by taking control of Shogo with her magic. With the wedding a success, Saturnyne awards Krakoa and Arakko a point each.
