Criminals hold hostage a scientist and his daughter in order to use his teleporting machine to rob banks. The daughter gets away briefly so that she can use the machine to draw the attention of a detective. She vanishes in front of his eyes, and intrigued, he tracks her down and apprehends the criminals.

He doesn't tell his wife about the car knowing she will find him silly for buying it but thinks she will change his mind if he wins a competition. He comes in second place and tells his wife about it but she isn't surprised. He wonders if she was at the stadium but she shows him her first prize trophy.

Synopsis for "The Endless Search"

Jon becomes separated from his brother Dal but he possesses half of a coin that his father severed so the two boys could find one another should they be separated. When alien invaders attack the airport Jon leads the locals in repulsing them. Jon thinks they can drive them off by dispatching their leader so he convinces their leader to walk into a trap and betrays him. The locals search the dead leader and tell Jon that he must have been pick-pocketed because the they removed a half coin from the body. Jon takes the coin and matches it with his half. Jon realizes that he is responsible for the death of his brother and leaves his community to join the retreating aliens as one of them.
