Bang is the first episode of the second season of the television series Daredevil.
Synopsis[]
In the void left by Fisk's removal, a new threat to Hell's Kitchen emerges. Murdock and Foggy take on a client with a questionable past.
Plot[]
Months after the arrest of Wilson Fisk, Daredevil continues to protect Hell's Kitchen from crime. He targets a group of robbers that escape from the NYPD, Daredevil takes out the robbers one by one, until the last one takes a hostage and drags her into a church, but Daredevil knocks him out regardless. At the next day, Foggy Nelson talks to Murdock about his duties as Daredevil, and Murdock says that the city still needs him. Karen Page tells them that although Nelson and Murdock is getting more clients, the firm is still in dire need of money.
The Kitchen Irish members gather at the Burren Club for a meeting, as Nesbitt proudly claims that now that Fisk is gone, they can expand in the city. However, someone opens fire at the club and slaughters almost all gangsters, with Grotto being the only survivor. Wounded Grotto gets to Josie's Bar where he gets approached by Murdock, who finds out that Grotto was looking for Nelson and Murdock. Grotto tells them that his gang is being targeted by a some kind of group and desperately asks for his help before passing out due to blood loss.
Murdock and Nelson go to the crime scene and talk to Brett Mahoney, although he refuses to disclose anything about the investigation. Murdock overhears the detectives and finds out that the attackers used armor-piercing rounds in the assault, and Mahoney reluctantly tells them about a supposed new gang that kills other gangs in town, starting a gang war. Page takes Grotto to Metro-General Hospital, and although he warns her that she is not safe near him, Page tells Grotto that she is his only chance at the moment.
Daredevil interrupts a deal set by Turk Barrett and interrogates him about the shooting, asking where did the attackers get the military-grade weaponry. Barrett says that Fisk might be involved, since he got locked up, every gang in town is striving to fill the power vaccuum. Barrett then informs Daredevil that the Mexican Cartel has been stacking the heavy weapons from Juárez at their hideout at Meatpacking District. Meanwhile, Nelson goes to the Dogs of Hell and tries to get information from his old friend Smitty, but when Nelson asks for him, Jimmy the Bear gets furious and orders to bounce him out of the club. Leon then reluctantly tells Nelson that Smitty was killed in the similar fashion to the Kitchen Irish, adding that Smitty and others were killed by some kind of army.
Arriving at the Meatpacking District, Daredevil finds the Cartel members strung up on meat hooks with only one of them alive. Daredevil asks the survivor about the group who did all that, however, he replies that they were attacked by one man, before dying. The shooter goes to the hospital to finish Grotto, so he and Page try escape from him, as he tries to shoot Grotto with a shotgun. As the shooter takes aim at Grotto from the rooftop, and just as he is about to take a shot, he gets attacked by Daredevil. In the subsequent duel, the shooter pulls out a gun and shoots Daredevil in the head at point-blank range.
