Junio[1] is a character that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog comic series and its spin-offs published by IDW Publishing. It is a Scrapnik, an amalgamation of Badnik parts and it once served the Eggman Empire. It now resides on Scrapnik Island.[2]
Appearance[]
Junio is a combination between a Batbrain, a Caterkiller, and one other Badnik. Its body is of a Batbrain and is navy blue with one sharp pointed right ear and a yellow canal. The second ear is missing as the top left side of its head is damaged and instead has a Caterkiller antenna extending from its hole. The antenna itself is yellow at the top and its pole is silver. Lastly, it has black eyes and gray chicken-like legs extending from the bottom of its body. For attire, Junio wears a red neckerchief around its mouth. Junio's body is quite rusted, giving it a more worn-down appearance compared to the standard Badnik.

Past[]
After being discarded by Dr. Eggman, Junio grouped up with its other fellow discarded Eggman robots and began a new civilization on the doctor's abandoned Death Egg with them. As a group, they collectively called themselves the "Scrapniks" and named their new home "Scrapnik Island".
Scrapnik Island[]
Due to the Death Egg's faulty climate disruptor, it created a large storm and caused Sonic and Tails to crash down with their Tornado onto Scrapnik Island. By the time the formerly unconscious Sonic had received information about this event from Tails, Junio was one of the several Scrapniks to greet the hedgehog.[2]

Later, Junio and the other Scrapniks all wanted to say "hello" to Tails' Miles Electric to see the device translate what they are saying. It stayed behind along with the other Scrapniks when Sonic, Sigma and Mecha Sonic Mark II went to the abandonned Death Egg to find a spare part for Tails' Tornado.[3]

Junio is a robot of free will and has quite a friendly personality, even with the fact that it is mute.[2]

- Junio is named after Studio Junio, the group that helped animate the opening and ending cutscenes for Sonic the Hedgehog CD.
