The Zap Laser (どっかんレーザー Dokkan Rēzā?)[1] is one of the Chao Walker's special attacks Sonic Adventure 2: Battle. When performing this technique, the Chao Walker fires a super-charged laser at the front of it.

Description[]

The Neutral Chao initiating its Zap Laser.

When performing the Zap Laser, the Neutral Chao presses a button inside its Chao Walker while striking a special move pose. The Chao Walker then fires a super-sized laser from the front end of it.[1] The Zap Laser itself looks nearly identical to the Power Laser, being a multicolored energy beam, but is slightly larger.

In gameplay, the Zap Laser is a dangerous move that deals heavy damage to opponents, but it is a hard attack to position. It also leaves the Chao Walker rooted while firing it, leaving it vulnerable to attack should the player miss. If the Chao Walker gets attacked, the Zap Laser will be canceled.

The Zap Laser can only be performed by the player by playing as the Chao Walker in the game's two-player mode. To use it, the player must press DreamcastB/SNNBGAMECUBEDISCO/Gamecube X Button after collecting forty-five Rings. To use it again, the player has to collect another forty-five Rings.

Trivia[]

  • Although the attack is supposed to be less powerful than the Dark Finish, the Zap Laser is thicker than the Dark Finish, and, by extension, all other equivalents of it.
