"Praz Fateer! Fastest flier on Alzoc III!"
"Well, that's not really saying much."
―A barker and Han Solo[4]

Alzoc III, also known as Alzoc, was a frozen planet located in the Sujimis sector of the galaxy's Outer Rim Territories that was the homeworld of the Talz species. The world was taken over by the Galactic Empire due to its exploitable mineral wealth. The pilot Praz Fateer was described as being the fastest on Alzoc III by a barker aboard the Frander's Bay space station. The Mandalorian bounty hunter Din Djarin was involved in a job on Alzoc III at some point before 9 ABY.

Description[]

Alzoc III,[4] also simply known as Alzoc,[1] was a terrestrial[4] frozen planet, though it was not inhospitable.[5] The world was located in the Sujimis sector[3] of the galaxy's Outer Rim Territories, situated at the coordinates P-19[1] on the Standard Galactic Grid.[6] It was rich in mineral wealth.[5]

History[]

"Ask him about the job on Alzoc III."
"I did what I had to."
"Oh, but you liked it."
―Xi'an and Din Djarin reflect on their job on Alzoc III[7]

During the High Republic Era, the mercenary Ty Yorrick took a job on Alzoc III where she worked alongside a member of the Hoopaloo species. The Hoopaloo betrayed her during the course of the mission, stealing half of her arsenal of equipment. Not wanting to undertake what she saw as a waste of time and effort, Yorrick accepted the loss and did not attempt to track him down.[8] At some point following the rescue on the Tranquility during the Clone Wars, Jedi Aayla Secura and Luminara Unduli engaged the Sith assassin Asajj Ventress on Alzoc III, where they incapacitated Ventress and left her trapped in an ice cave by causing a cave in.[9]

During the Imperial Era, the Galactic Empire discovered Alzoc III's mineral wealth, and took over the world in order to exploit it.[5] The Rebel Alliance heroes Lando Calrissian and Han Solo overheard the barker's claims while searching for a pilot on the station, and Solo was unimpressed by Fateer's title.[4] At some point prior to 9 ABY,[10] the Mandalorian bounty hunter Din Djarin undertook a job on Alzoc III with Xi'an. When Djarin rejoined Xi'an as part of a team of mercenaries for a mission, Xi'an brought up the job to the other members of the group. Djarin stated he had done what he needed to do, and Xi'an claimed that he had enjoyed doing it.[7]

Inhabitants[]

Alzoc III was the homeworld of the Talz sentient species.[5] According to a barker present on the Frander's Bay space station[4] in 7 ABY,[11] Praz Fateer was the fastest pilot on Alzoc III.[4]

Behind the scenes[]

Alzoc III was first mentioned in the new Star Wars canon on a map in the article Where in the Galaxy Are the Worlds of Star Wars: The Force Awakens?, published on StarWars.com on January 29, 2016.[12] It was later identified as Alzoc III in the second issue of De Agostini's Star Wars Helmet Collection magazine series, published in 2016.[5]

In the Star Wars Legends continuity, Alzoc III was first mentioned in Galaxy Guide 4: Alien Races, a supplement to Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game written by Troy Denning and published by West End Games in 1989.[13]
