The condenser unit was a device manufactured by SurvivalGear. It could generate water from moisture in the atmosphere and cook foods without creating smoke. The unit was composed of a two-liter receptacle with a flared metal shade. A series of coils were attached to a small power unit and condenser in the middle. The metal shade could be inverted to generate heat capable of smokeless cooking and the condenser could generate enough water to sustain one person. The condenser unit's battery could last up to six months.[1]

The condenser unit was first mentioned in the new Star Wars canon in Forged in Battle,[1] a 2016 sourcebook for the Star Wars: Age of Rebellion roleplaying game published by Fantasy Flight Games.[2] It originated in the Star Wars Legends continuity, where it was first mentioned in the 1994 reference book A Guide to the Star Wars Universe, compiled by Raymond L. Velasco and published by Ballantine Books.[3]
