Ulmatra was a minor trade world that was located within the Ulmatra system of the galaxy's Hutt Space region. It lay at the intersection of the Pabol Sleheyron and The Dead Road hyperlanes. The former connected Ulmatra to the planets Sleheyron and Randa, while the latter linked the planet to the worlds of Kafane and Zisia.[1] Ulmatra was home to the creature known as the Ulmatran condor,[2][3] and the planet lay within the sphere of influence of the Kajidier kajidic, a clan of the Hutt species.[4]

This section of the article assumes 100% game completion of Star Wars: The Old Republic. Any alternate stories may be noted in the "Behind the scenes" section. The events in this section may or may not have been confirmed as canon within the Star Wars Legends continuity.

Around 3643 BBY,[5] Ulmatra housed hundreds of corporations that were suspected of money laundering. An individual visited Ulmatra at that time and sliced the corporations' computers in order to find out which businesses laundered credits. The slicer discovered that several of the corporations laundered money for the criminal organization known as the Exchange and was generously rewarded for that information by the Hutts.[6]

Behind the scenes[]

"Others were meant to sound like they were named by other species – Affavan and Ulmatra, for instance."
―Jason Fry[7]

Ulmatra was first mentioned in The Essential Atlas, a 2009 reference book co-authored by Daniel Wallace and Jason Fry, which placed the planet in grid square S-10.[1] In a 2009 article published on Suvudu, Fry noted that the name of Ulmatra was intended to sound as if it had been named by a species other than the Hutts.[7] Ulmatra was mentioned in a Slicing Crew Skill mission of the 2011 BioWare video game Star Wars: The Old Republic, though the information regarding the mission's outcome was later removed from the game.[6]

(backup link) Jason Fry, co-author of The Essential Atlas, stated his intention to create homeworlds for numerous species based on context implied from their names. This article treats Ulmatra as one such homeworld with regard to the Ulmatran condor species.

  5. Per the reasoning here, Act I of Star Wars: The Old Republic takes place around 3643 BBY. Since players of The Old Republic can assign their companions on the mission "The Cleanest Profession" independently of the main class storyline at any point during the game, the mission must take place at some point around 3643 BBY.
