"Master Yoda, I have your—lightsaber... Which you clearly do not require."
Obi-Wan Kenobi, to Yoda[5]

Yoda's lightsaber was the weapon carried by Grand Master Yoda. Its blade was shorter than that of a normal lightsaber to match Yoda's small stature, and was green. He used this blade to perfect all styles of lightsaber combat, most notably Form IV: Ataru.

History[]

Air yoda

Yoda wielding his lightsaber

Yoda constructed this lightsaber as an apprentice under the instruction of the architect droid Huyang. It is possible Yoda did this on board the Crucible after acquiring his crystal on Ilum. The Jedi Master used the lightsaber in numerous battles and skirmishes in the Clone Wars. The lightsaber saw action in the First Battle of Geonosis against Count Dooku and also saw use on missions to Rugosa, Vjun, Ilum, Moraband, and Coruscant.

The Jedi Master used this weapon in a duel with the Dark Lord of the Sith Darth Sidious in the Senate Building in 19 BBY. When the Dark Lord used Force lightning to disarm him, Yoda lost the lightsaber, which fell to the ground below, but he recovered the weapon, and kept it in a box in his hut on Dagobah while in his exile.
