History[]

Ultraman Taro[]

Astromons was the first monster to appear during Ultraman Taro's time on Earth. Appearing not as himself though, Astromons initially started out as a seed of a Tigris Flower, a rare flower that was rumored to appear once every 100 years. The seed was planted in a landfill by a yong man named Kotaro Higashi, who had come to Japan along with his pet puppy to become a boxer. Shortly after being planted, the seed sprouted and quickly grew into a large garden of Tigris Flowers to Kotaro's delight. Once night fell though, the plant's true nature came out as it quickly devoured Kotaro's puppy and attempted to eat ZAT member: Tetsuya Kitajima. The creature's attempt was thwarted though, and the rest of ZAT was quickly notified of its presence (at the same time, the team was on the hunt for a terrible-monster that was on the loose earlier). Finding the Tigris flower patch, ZAT tried to dispose of the threat by incinerating it with flamethrowers, which appeared to had worked. The team was then confronted by an enraged Kotaro, who tried to pick a fight with some of its members, as well as Oil Drinker, the terrible-monster they were looking for earlier.

Once the team left to deal with the beast, Astromons made its presence known by rising up from the ground and engaging Oil Drinker in battle. After a short fight, Astromons emerged victorious by devouring Oil Drinker with the gigantic Tigris Flower that was on its stomach. After which, the plant monster flew away into the night. The next day, Astromons reappeared in Tokyo and began rampaging. ZAT was quick to deploy and immediately attacked the monster by electrocuting it with a shock anchor, but this only enraged the monster even further, who disabled their anchor and set its sights on ZAT's HQ (which was in the heart of Tokyo). Luckily the team was able to save its HQ from the monster's attack by separating their stations, but Kotaro (who had recently joined the team as well) immediately went straight after the monster to try and fend it off by himself. In doing so, Astromons targeted him instead and immediately took down his Swallow, killing him in the process... Or so it seemed.

Once Kotaro was revived by Mother of Ultra, Astromons was then confronted by the newest member of the Space Garrison: Ultraman Taro. The new ultra fought fiercely against the plant monster, but despite Astromons fighting back with its acidic spray, the monster was no match for Taro, who threw the monster around several times before obliterating Astromons with his Strium Beam.[1][Mother of Ultra is Like The Sun]
