Summary
SWATbots are military robots in the Sonic the Hedgehog comic series and its spin-offs published by Archie Comics.
They were developed by Dr. Ivo Robotnik as his main robot force during his initial takeover of Mobius. They served in a multitude of roles from infantry to vehicle crews.

During Robotnik's coup d'état, the SWATbots had managed to take over numerous key points of Mobotropolis and rounded up thousands of Mobians, all within a matter of hours)

- They were THE military force Robotnik used to conquer Planet Mobius. The Iron King even views Robotnik’s forces at the time the edge he needed for his own conquests
- A Shadow Bot caused King Maximilian to become crippled for a time
- Overwhelmed Sonic and the Freedom Fighters with Robotnik’s Operation Wasteland, a voice command for when Robotnik dies for good and someone uttered the key words

- The armor of the SWATbots protects them from their own lasers and reflects them. This is likely has practical purposes in the case of friendly fire among the troops.
Note: The Shadow Bots, with a bulkier design, has no feats or statements of being stronger than the Original SWATbots. Even their invasion in issue 75 is a water down feat. The Kingdom of Acorn was not in its Prime from when the SWATbots took over, as the citizens numbers were greatly less than before and there was no longer a military force to oppose the Shadow Bots as there was in the past.
